Yeah, The topic probably doesn't make much sense, but here is the gist of it:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a Long Running Manga where, after the Third Series, the Main Characters use powers called 'Stands' to fight other Stand Users. These stands can usually only be seen by those who also have Stands, and are all Super-human to varying Degrees.
Each Stand, alongside it's Super-human powers, also has an 'Ability' or two, which are always extremely 'Odd', and would appear usless, but is instead extremely useful because the Stand's User is smart enough to use the power in such a way that it becomes powerful.
For Example, one Stand has the ability to place a 'sticker' on an object, splitting it in two, then pull the sticker off, causing the objects to combine and cause some damage to the reformed object, another has the ability to copy any suicidal action done by it's user onto a random target, one can 'write' a sound effect on a surface and have that sound echo over and over again, and a fourth has the ability to 'Soften' any object it hits.
The problem is, I want to write a story, but I can not think of enough Stand Powers that are original.
So, This topic is asking for help on coming up with Original Stand Powers.
They should be Unusual, if not flat-out weird, and, if possible, seem useless until you think about it for more then a second. They don't have to be distinctly related to combat, some Stands have 'Support' type powers, like rewinding time in a general area to show what happened previously, or just showing the luckiest and unluckiest spots for a person to be standing in.
I currently have three of them, and I am looking for anywhere from 7 to 17 more of them (10 to 20 Stands), but I might use more or less dependently.
Stands are almost always named after Bands, Albums, or Songs, generally Rock, or Metal bands, so if you want to totally create one, that's fine, but I really just need ideas of powers.
Their stats are rated from A-E, with A being 'Very Good' C being 'Average' and E being 'Very Bad', but it is a very vague system, as the most powerful Stand has an A in almost all stats, but several other, weaker, ones do as well. Stands with limited combat ability (I.E., those that can't fight), would obviously not have Strength or Speed Scores, or such
Stats are:
Strength (Physical Power, even at 'D', a Stand is capable of ripping out a human's throat with 1 hand, but a Strength of 'E' or 'None', which is generally used with Support Stands, means the Stand is unable to attack at all),
Speed (How fast the stand moves or attacks, an 'A' usually means Faster then Light, an 'E' means it is generally incapable of movement, though it may just be extremely slow.)
Range (How far a Stand can be away from it's user, an E is generally less then 2 Meters, A for close-range stands is about 10, but Long Range stands will generally by about 10 Meters for E, and up to hundreds of meters for A),
Staying (How long it's effects of the Stand Persist after leaving it's effective range or defeating it's owner, also how long the Stand can fight after receiving serious injury. Long-Range and Automatic Stands use this to determine how long they will chase a target, if they are that type, after being issued the Order to do so.)
Precision (How well a Stand's Ability can pick out Targets from a group, It's ability to distinguish Friend and Foe when using it's ability, an 'E' is a stand that will generally effect everyone in a general area, Friend or Foe, A-ranks will generally be able to pick out specific targets from groups of people)
Learning (The Stand's ability to 'learn', the higher the Ability, the faster it reaches 'Maturity', and can use it's powers to it's absolute maximum)
The Three I have so far are as follows, one for each type (Close-Range, Long-Range, and Automatic):
Rise Against: Has the ability to 'stretch' it's fingers to a total Length of 10 Feet combined (1 Foot for each Finger, or 10 feet for 1 finger)
Power: C (Capable of punching through Solid Brick and bending Steel)
Speed: A (Moves as fast as Light)
Range: D (3.5 Meters)
Staying: A (Can keep fighting even with severe injuries to all body parts)
Precision: A (Capable of piercing a person's Eye-ball without touching any other part of their eye with it's ability)
Learning: Complete (It has reached it's maximum abilities)
Red: Can start and Control Fires, so long as it possess all the components already needed to start them (Ignition source, Fuel, and Oxygen), no matter how small the individual components are, a fire can be made of any size, and the User has to be able to see where the Fire would be created at. Has no 'Body'.
Power: E (Can not Attack)
Speed: E (Can not Move)
Range: A (As long as it's User can see the area, and has the components, a Fire can be made anywhere)
Staying: A (The Fires will continue even if the Stand is Disabled)
Precision: D (Can make fires within a 5-Foot range of error, but the fire will not differentiate between Friend or Foe)
Learning: E (Is not necessarily 'Sentient', so it can not learn or adapt)
Trapt: When activated, it sticks itself to the back of the target's head. From there, every time the target attacks something, the damage is reflected back onto the target. The attacked does not have to be the same person, any attack the person does, even to inanimate objects, is reflected back to them. The Stand is also capable of speech, and will insult and belittle those that it sees, attempting to get them to attack it's target, thus forcing the target to counter.
Power: C (It's grip is strong enough that removing it from the back of the target's head would pull the target's brain out through their eye-sockets from it's pull on the Skull)
Speed: E (It does not move once placed on the Target's Head)
Range: A (The User only has to be within the same City to have the effect work.)
Staying: E (Once removed, the ability no long effects the person.)
Precision: A (It follows orders exactly, and only tricks those it wishes into attacking the target)
Learning: C (Quickly picks up on new ways to get people to attack, but takes a lot of repeated instructions to find a target if the User isn't close enough to point him out)
If you are here, thanks for sticking it out, I realize it was probably long and boring, but any help is extremely appreciated.
It only has to be powers, you don't have to make the whole Stand if you don't want to.
The TL;DR version is this:
Make an Ability that is Weird, Unusual, and appears weak or Useless at first glance, but can be used in such at way that it is actually strong.
