I finally got my ass a laptop, a sony vaio to be exact if you wanted to know.
Now since it's a 2008 model, it's stupid microsoft onecare keeps popping up and saying it's virus and maleware program's out of date. I just ignore it everytime, I understand microsoft is susceptible to viruses, however I just use my laptop stealin' internetz just to download anime.
Is this a good thing to ignore?

no, it's usually not a good thing to ignore. Update your anti-virus program and malware program(windows defender?).

You definitely need an anti-virus software. As long as you're connected to the internet, you're not safe.
Of course, if you're willing to switch to Linux, that's a completely different matter. :wink:
