no I did not make this video. but it hits the nail on the head of this kind of behavior.

I may not have as many post as some people around the board but I still see this same behavior going around. Especially when there are real reasonable posters on the forum that I find enlightening in there opinions and the different info that they bring. I really don't like it the laptop gangsters, you know who you are that keep going with pointless arguments. You could call this a calling out or what not. But I still thinks an issue that needs some attention. feel free to speak your mind on this one.

Yea, and what are we going to do about it? Force people to act a certain way because you don't like how they argue and talk shit? This behavior is natural as there aren't any social consequences of saying shit on the internet, and empathy doesn't work so well here. Personally, I think that the video makes the real gangster look like some caveman who can only solve his problems through violence.

It's something that'll always be present, as long as there's people there'll always be some of them who find it necessary to act like a tough guy to please their ego to feel more secure. There's not really anything that can be done about it except if you find a way to have others behave like you want them to.

However while I don't approve of acting like a "bad ass" for the sake of being one, I still think there's difference in being a laptop gangster and actually having some facts to back up your argument. If you can actually back up your arguments in a discussion then that's a different story. (If you don't act like a complete jack ass at least.)

Exactly what I'm doing right now, bringing up a civil conversation on the matter of those who like to pretend to be tougher than they really are and only act as a public nuisance. It may not be much but it does one of two things

1) Attract more people who have been noticing similar behavior and would like to say or do something. And give the opportunity to do so.



2) Draw out and Expose one or more of the laptop gangsters for the board to see get the rest of the board to know who they are and to give them no love. And bring some social consequences. It might or might not work but its a start in the right direction in getting rid of such problems.




If you have ever live around most real gangster, thugs, gangbanger, or people who follow that hardcore rap life style. Most if not all of there problems are solved using violence. Which is why so many of them end up dead or in jail.

Now if any of this type of shit happened in the suburbs then it gets national media coverage with debates from politician, experts and what not. All of them crying about how the youth of America is being taught to kill, or that there are need for more gun laws and what not. Now this type of violent behavior is the Detroit news and free press almost every day. You have the links look for yourself how much violence happens on a day to day basis in that one city.




I'm saying talking tough while hiding behind anonymity is a sissy act of cowards. Who don't have the testicular fortitude walk the walk in real life. So they get on the net and start popping off at the mouth. If you want that life so bad and to prove your Mr.Billy Bad Ass go out at night to one of those gangster neighborhoods and do the same thing and tell me how it works out for you. If not at least stay civil to lend an open ear to those who return it and try to stay civil as well.

Reminds me of that movie Silent Bob and his partner where they tracked all those who flamed them in the internet and kicked there asses. LOL

If I had the money I would so do that. Twice over just for good luck.

I was thinking more along the lines of a unilateral shut out. Like giving support to those who give reasonable arguments with proof and what not while demoting the Laptop gangster, without starting a flame war. Its a crazy idea but if enough people get behind it. It could work. Your neg rep idea could also work. Its a matter of effectively delivering the message for them to get lost

You could try, but I don't think you'll get anywhere. I doubt internet tough guys give a shit about what others think, and they'll just make a flame war out of it if they are specifically targeted.

If you mean "demote" as in ridicule, then that's nothing new to me as I do it to all who deserve it. Not sure if it'll make them fuck off, as I'm doing it to piss them off.

then you'll just make it worse. you need to remember that these are horrible sub-human "people" that feed of the attention they receive by posting offensive things on the internet. Give them no attention and they will starve. Also report the worst of their actions, since they won't know about it they still don't get any sustenance.

I've honestly never met a "internet gangster" on Youtube. I didn't even know there was a such thing after seeing this thread. I just thought they were called "people who act tough on the interwebz."
