Wait, support for 16 Billion Gigabytes of RAM?! This makes me consider buying a mac...
It's just future proof. The Mac Pro current only supports 64GB RAM, but that's still more than most PCs.

It's only that much if you already have Leopard. Meaning its 29 dollars for an upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6
$129 + $29 = $158. It's still less than Windows 7 Ultimate which is $400 ish, not to mention you already paid for XP or Vista. Remember that OS X doesn't have so many different versions like Windows, so it's natural to compare its price to Ultimate.
EDIT: Snow Leopard isn't an upgrade DVD. It's $29 for the full installation disc.

This. Also in before you have to have already bought a 1699USD laptop.
This is designed for existing Mac users. You PC users will have to pay $400 if you want to get 7.
And not many has MSDN subscription. Quite a lot less than Mac users, let me add.
