My wallet cries out in pain.

So, I will get straight to the point, I bought a new computer today. Yes I had originally intended to not go about buying a new one after my old computer had died for about two weeks to a month, but I found myself so sad, bored, restless and down right unhappy with not having proper internet access that I broke down and bought a new one.

Sadly I had to buy it. I asked my parents if they would since it was my birthday and my dad gave me the speech of being responsible for things now that I have reached a certain age even tho I already am responsible for a lot of things I didn't see it as too much of a request since it was birthday and all. I just think it's the fact that he knew I was saving up for a new HDTV and that I had the money. I had to spend 600 dollars out of my savings.

So that's that Fakku. It has been one hell of a week full of happiness, sadness, a little depression and me being broke. All in all I'm happy. I am so glad that I now have a computer again but my wallet she weeps.

At least you were able to hold out for a little bit. If it was me, I would have to pretty much buy a new one right after I know for a fact that my old computer is dead. I can barely survive a day without a computer unless I already got plans. Good try on staying internet free for a bit though.

Money is always a problem. I know how you feel about the whole computer vs TV thing but luckily I already have a computer. I want buy my own HDTV in the near future.

Try finding a HDTV off ebay, it's where I got my 22inch flatscreen hdtv for just 400 bucks.

Hella cheap compared to what some people bought for like 24 inches at my dorm.

Well when you put it that way it makes perfect sense. I guess from now on when I make purchases I will have to have someone use a ridiculous looking smiley to make my decision clear.



I will just have to be satisfied with my current HDTV for a while longer. I bought my HDTV about four years ago back when 1080p was still expensive. Now I want to get a 1080p TV but that isn't going to happen for a while because of the whole computer incident. Oh well, I waited this long I suppose a while longer won't be so bad.

it's not like that money would be remain under lock and key for all eternity; the fact that you don't buy the figures means you can buy something else later, perhaps something you will enjoy more.

400 bucks? What Brand? You can find a lot for 400 bucks. This was the last one in Best Buy and only cost me 230 bucks. It's an old one and they we're gonna have it shipped back. HDTV, 19 Inch, 720p, Poloroid. I need a wall mount though... and a small extension cord. The Cable plug runs behind the toilet you can't see it though.

An samsung flat screen HDTV, I don't really mind because it works wonderfully.

400 bucks for a 22 inch off ebay? i bought a 32 inch hdtv for $500 after tax and the warrenty. I hate to buy new things when the old one works fine but i had a crappy 16 inch tv and it wasnt even flat screen but now thats $500 less for something random i may want in the future.

Man I know how you're feeling. Last summer I earned some really good money for translating some stuff... and sice I had my birthday right after the end of August (end of summer holidays around here) I was trying to convince my dad to the same thing you tried... Guess how it ended. Yeah, he couldn't share some expenses, he just said "Buy it yourself, I'm not a bank and you should learn the price of things."
And that's how a half of my whole holiday income flew out of window...


Be strong and bear with it, be glad you didn't have to buy something even more expensive and less entertaining.
