Nacho's rookie corner.

Some things about me:

Complete noob artist.

I'm still mostly copying other works and trying to keep all the proportions of the picture right. It's tougher than it sounds, at least for me.

Please don't expect too much.

I think I'll do more of this stuff now, it's actually very informative.

I completely messed up the eyes at first, which left some rather annoying traces on the paper, but I learned a lot of what not to do while working on this one.

I was playing around with a fineliner and messed up big time, see the right side of her hair or her brooch.

To be honest, I'm a little proud of this picture, I think Kagami's eyes turned out quite pretty. (Took me a lot of time though.)

They 'aint bad at all nacho, i like the one of maya :D its just missing the adorable sakaki.

I'm the same, i cant draw unless copying something, I drew a pic of caska (which i'm quite proud of :3) from berserk a few weeks back so i'll scan and upload it in the next couple of days and show you :)

Hey Good Job. I think youre doing great. Dont worry about copying a picture you like(as long as you copy it not trace over it or pretend that its yours). Copying teaches you how to solve the problems you are faced with when drawing.

I didn't have time to draw more, I got completely addicted to Code Geass and School Rumble.

You should definately continue drawing, there are some great people here on the forums who (as you can see) are more than willing to help and give you some pointers.

You did a good job with Kamineko nacho. The shading is really nice.

Good work! I myself envy people who can draw, as I have a perfectionist mind. Anything I draw must be a perfect representation of what I see in my head. Which is why I write often, rather than waste paper, time and patience on horrific scribbles and geometric shapes, which is about my limit of artistic creativity.

So keep at it! As everyone tells me, the more you do it, the better you can get.

I'm glad you guys like my stuff.

It's actually a huge motivation to draw some more.



I'm the same, that's why I didn't bother to draw earlier.

But I kinda figured out not to judge pictures before they are finished.

My pictures start out incredibly crappy, but in the end they always end up nice, I have no idea how I'm doing that.

I recently finished Code Geass (my mind is all fucked up now) so I thought I'd draw a Lelouch, new picture added.

We have a strong case of thread necromancy.

I decided to revive my little gallery. (In fact forcing myself to spend more time on drawing.)

So please bear with me here.

I haven't got around to do much more since my last update, for the moment I have only two new pictures - but I'm trying hard from now on. (Again.)

They're very good! I started copying the pics a liked, the very first ones were pics from Darkstalkers 3 cg gallery, and from there i started to love Lilith :o Copying helps a lot, i've found it quite useful

Are you referring to the drawing of Louise? I knew something seemed wrong with this picture, but I didn't notice the missing eyebrows at all, thanks for reminding me.

Added the finished drawing of Tsukasa - didn't turn out so great, but oh well.

On the bright side: I just finished uncursing the Paladin's Shield in FF VI. Yay for me.

Why don't you finish tsukasa's ribbon? I think it would look more complete, also it looks cute.

What you have here is really good. :)

Glad to see you are practicing stick figure poses too. I never did that and always have to ref my poses to other photos/drawings.

Another good thing that you should try is to eye-ball and copy real people. Getting used to drawing real humans actually helps a fucking hell of a lot when you start drawing anime. D:

You start to understand how the human body looks and moves more by doing that. Plus it's harder to form a style of your own from copying off of other anime artist's work because they are all so different so the style changes a lot.

Easier to make your own style when you start from scratch.

But that's just my advice. Whatever way works best for you is the way you should go obviously. :3

Definitely gotta learn the basics though like proportions and stuff and you seem to have that down so far. Good luck with your future drawings! ^^
