Hey, allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Calvin, I reside in Toronto most of the time and in Hong Kong and occasionally (from now on) in Tokyo. I am an Apple Approved iPhone App developer. I built a team from scratch using friends, school recruitment, and a friendly game of pickup baseball. (Not joking)
Now this visual novel isn't your typical Leaf and Key type of visual novel. This game is built up from scratch, native to the iPhone. Let me tell you this, this game that we are making isn't some dumb hobby for us. It's the real deal. Although we are all poor students/undergrads working part-time jobs to sustain our livelihood, this project of ours is more than a dream; it's coming into fruition.
We started in February 2009. Me and my business/music guy were crunching numbers, calculating the feasibility of it all. The results were...optimistic. At the time, there had been no visual novel-type game released on the iTunes App Store. (GIFT, based on a PS2/PC eroge has now been released.) If we could hit the market fast, and make some impact, we could possibly have a business on our hands.
Now its July 8th, 2009. How have we progressed? Let me tell you.
Coding/Technical aspect: 80% done. Save/load system yet to be finalized, Stat system still up in the air.
Scenario/Storyline: 45% done. One of the girls you encounter, her route is fully realized but the optional scenes and the other girls have yet to full materialize.
Music: 75% done. We have around 12 original sound tracks made and most of them sound really good.
Art: We just recruited a few artists from Fakku and well, things are going GREAT.
Now a little about the team, and about our vision. Satellite-Stage
We fully plan to make this our full time occupation. To us, this isn't a game, nor a hobby. We want to make this sort of thing as a means to sustain our livelihood. We are all poor students and just-graduates that all put hours and hours of our spare time into this project. I, myself just spent $7000 of my hard earned money to buy a MacBook Pro to do art/program on, a trip to Japan as a means of studying their culture, and also buying lots of other supplies for my team. My other programming bought a Macbook as well just to help me with programming. We are not playing around, this is a serious attempt at getting into the industry.
We have no money! Our only assets are the labor and time we spent into this project, and the fruits of the labor itself.
Now, before the skeptics and realists decide to rain on our parade, I fully understand that this isn't going to make us into MILLIONAIRES overnight. That would be silly and naive. HOWEVER, having a game shipped, under your resume, is a HUGE thing for your credentials. Even if this team I am working with right now doesn't become my company in the future, I fully intend to work with a game company in the future.
Now, I would like to introduce my staff.

EDIT @ 2009/07/12:
Now, after digesting all that, I want to make an honest request to the Fakku community. I'll be honest with you guys, we desperately need a WebMaster. I want one that can make a site simple, yet detailed enough to have all the things we want to show off, like a characters section art section...music..what not. Take a good look at some Visual Novel websites, and that'll be around what is expected of you.
Of course, you'll be compensated with lots of doujin manga from yours truly and maybe even some super special if our game really takes off well!
So if you really want to a part of this team, please shoot me an email:
SynsationATgmailDOTcom
You will be provided with all the necessary resources for the website, hosting is provided, all sorts of those resources are provided, and if they are not, I will make sure it is.
