Useless information, but it's not just an eye trick, a lot of studies have been done about optical illusions and it's been found to actually trick the brain and stimulate the visual cortex... er, something like that. It's been a few years for me and high school psychology. But I remember learning about it.

Basically the eye doesn't know where to focus, because your eyes only focus on what they need to see. Anyone whose never worn glasses before and puts them on the first time can admit the frames bothered them for a while. But anyone who has worn glasses for a long time can say they rarely notice them at all unless they think about it.

Also, the nose is a great example. You don't ever notice it at all, but if you take the time to look you'll see it.

It's just how your brain works.
