Opinions in need

I've recently met a girl I have started to like though her you tube channel, which she uses to play one instrument or another in cover songs. And this is where problem my troubles begin. We talk about what we're into, where we live what we aspire to be; the normal prelude to a relationship of some sort.

I can't tell if she's humoring me/being friendly with me or if she's interested in me. Is it weird randomly finding someone talking to you through P.M.'s like a pen pal with a slightly ambiguous background?[That’s how I imagine myself coming off as] Am I coming off as creepy? Is it worth setting my self up for the fall?

I'm internet shy, and that was the first time I tried to form any kind of bond with a stranger online [without being introduced in some fashion or another first], and this is my first time using a forum for my own personal intentions. What do you think, am I just wasting my time or not?

over the internet I dun think it's a very smart choice. Meet her in person first, then maybe you two can get somewhere.

But I live in New York City and she in Tennessee, that’s another factor I forgot to mention I guess, sorry. But I get you, I do want to meet in person at least once.

The advice would kinda depend on what you're looking for in a relationship with another person through the internet. Are you just trying to be friends, cyber buddies, real life hookup? I can say that the last is pretty unlikely if you don't both already live in the same area. As for the second you should be careful not to come off as creepy. I always find that when it comes to other people it's best not to expect anything in particular, that way you're open enough for people to be friendly with but not disappointed when someone decides they don't like you or whatever.

And that’s how I mostly feel when on the internet or otherwise with other people; friendly but jaded. I just thought if I gave it time and took a chance I could end up happy. It happened for a friend, why not me.

I could make many valid points about how this would never work and supply you with a massive wall of text and argument, but im not going too.

Forget it, i know it's harsh but it has a very slim chance of working. Too many negatives outweighing the positives of this situation. Even though you think it might work or that she might like you, it's only your emotions overcoming sensible thinking. Its a bad thing to get overly involved with it because you'll only end up crashing right down onto your face.

It's impossible to tell someone's true intentions or feelings about you without meeting them IRL, impossible over the internet. You've got to remember that girls are overly friendly and give mixed messages that boys don't interpret well. (And then get angry that you don't understand their message ^o^)

My suggestion is that you give up, stay "internet" friends but nothing more. Find a nice young lady on the street that you can actually associate with IRL.

I appreciate your effort I assure you, and I for the most part AGREE; shouldn't be that shocking really. There are too many grey zones, and I might be better off just keeping it casual. So I'll keep this in mind before I do something I can't take back which would be ridiculous this early on! This might just be a very dizzying crush, one I haven’t had since high school.

Just don't let your emotions fuel your logic. Just because she shows a positive attitude towards you doesn't mean OMFG SHE LEIKS ME!!! <--- This is a case of emotions affecting sensible thinking, it's what screws us men over most of the time and makes us easy to manipulate.

Gotta agree with GameON(ion) there. As for getting better at these things with age...I've seen people get desperate with age and make more and more tragically obvious mistakes. Btw I made this post pretty much as an excuse to say that I really like your avatar CoiY.

You can tell if someone is "humoring me/being friendly...or if she's interested" in real life? I always just assume that they are attempting to avoid conflict. As such,I commonly apologize for my actions that I think might possibly seem creepy. I've noticed that I litter my speech with ambiguous terms. I really can't see any reason to trust this individual. :/ Perhaps I'm simply too paranoid.

Investigate her, meet her, and you can continue into deeper relationship.

I don't trust her plain and simple, but would you say testing her waters would be uncalled for? The whole punt of this was to see how many ways I could approach this, because I will- but with finesse and tact is the "method to me madness".

Well, it's frickin' YT, exchange a couple vids or do a couple video-chat sessions. Can't hurt, you'll both prove to each other you're real peeps, and it gets some face time.

We know each other on Facebook at this point and I think IM'ing is the better substitute for the moment, but wouldn't that make things insanely public! I don't even want to go there.
