Original Manga : Candide

Hi all,
This is my new full-length series, Candide. (Currently only the first chapter of 15 pages is done, but a lot more to come!) It's about the life of a female metalhead Candide -a smart but perpetually gloomy girl- and how she'll grow out of her antisocial self with the help of new friends.

This is very loosely based on Voltaire's Candide in which the original story features a naive/optimistic protagonist while MY Candide is a world-weary/cynical girl. She's also my alter-ego :P
This chapter is done 100% on Photoshop with a Wacom tablet. took me 90 hours! I intend for this manga to jokes on Japanese animes and games as well in the future :)
I'd say the story doesn't start on a high note, but it's my first time writing in this genre (comedy/drama) and I'm sure it'll get better!

Before anything, I'll state some things that I think should have been different:
-The speech bubbles: they're too big at times, or baddly placed (page 5, 5th panel for example).
-The size of the font sometimes is waaay too big. I think it'd look better everything more-or-less the same size.
Some things I think are pretty good. The tones for example. *cough*HER BOOBS!!!*cough* And some other stuff. I look forward to see chapter 2.

Thanks a LOT!! You're the first to point that out to me :) Some readers also commented that the fonts are inappropriate ("too American") I'll definitely try to make it better the next time around!

You may want to try the "Anime Ace" font. It's used in a lot of translations, official and unofficial. I've noticed it in most Doujinshis and Mangas:

BTW: I read your first chapter, very well done. It was pretty funny at some parts, and Megadeth rofl.
Anyways, keep up the good work, I'll be sure to check out more of your work.
