Photo taking help?

Since there is nothing here on Fakku forums like this, I created this topic to help those, like me, who have no camera skills and are hoping the pros can give up some tips to make our figure photoshoots look better. Any (constructive) help and criticism is appreciated.

My first question is how to get the lighting right? Most of my figures are bathed in light when the pictures come out because of the flash and everytime i turn off the flash, the photo either gets too dark and/or too blurry. Can anyone tell me what i can do to minimize the flash effect so i can take better pictures?

Ambient lighting is critical. You shouldn't have to use a flash if the the surrounding light is of the right standard. Make sure you aren't using a conventional bulb or lamp shade that will tint or obscure light and eliminate all or most shadow. White background with bright (key), ambient light works best for multiple angle shots without readjusting the light source.


One of the best sources of readily available light for figure photo shoots is that giant sphere of burning gas we call the Sun. If you can take your figures outside and find the right scenery, you'll get much better results in terms of lighting without a high-end camera or fancy lighting.

When you enter Manual setting instead of Auto you can change the brightness of the image before you save the picture.
