Pirated software in iPods...

My Aunt is going to the US to work and be reunited with her daughters (and my cousins). She asked me to remove ANY pirated software in her Laptop, including Limewire, The songs in her iTunes, and even some software that I didn't even know.

Now, the only thing is... What about her iPod? she's got a bundle of stuff in there. Like the movie, Twilight (part 1) and a LOT of songs that she just named "track". Would those get through security, or does she need to remove them too? I mean, sure, they'll easily know that the movies in there are pirated, but How will they know about the songs? Will they even go so far as to inspect every bit of her iPod?

Just asking out of concern for my Aunt.

I've been to the US and I only brought 1 pirated CD with me which slipped through... Oh! The CD got through coz it was in the box (the one containing gifts and such) while my aunt is gonna hand-carry the iPod.

I brought an iPod with some downloaded songs through security fine. They don't check your electronic devices you have on person. It's not like such songs are a threat to national security or wildlife.

You don't have to declare digital information. They will ask you to fill out a customs sheet, declaring what you are bringing (in terms of goods/ physical things) into the country. Things like plants, food, and some other things will be confiscated.

They are airport security, they won't report to the record companies that you downloaded some songs.

Maybe things are different for non-US visitors, but you shouldn't encounter a problem.

Yeah, they shouldnt check any of your software or your music. just dont try to go on limewire or torrent stuff in certain places, like hotels and internet cafes, as they will watch your bandwith and might get mad.

Meh, I don't do limewire anyway. But I'll tell my aunt to keep that in mind.
