He was just powering up before he presented his picture. Imagine it was in his hand as he did a Kamehameha thing and when he unleshed it his picture shot out on to the screen.

That is CLAMP alright, in fact it's the xxxHolic manga book. I can see Yuuko in the left cover of the book, and I think the character on the right side is Watanuki.

this was taken from vacation.... I didnt go through that so i can post it here.... it just happened... and i didnt think it would be THAT cold at the time
