I think that like 99% of those products are full of crap, but some of them have to work, because there has to be some other reason (than peoples stupidity) for why they sell so well. but yeah, a good way to get any hair to grow faster is cutting/shaving it as often as possible. Its a shame my bf doesnt listen me about that, his beard is really weak.
Cutting/shaving hair doesn't actually make it grow faster, although it does sometimes give the illusion.
Hair that's never been cut has a tapered end, but successive cutting makes the ends blunter (hence making the tip of the strand thicker), giving the impression of more growth. However, this method won't increase hair growth indefinitely, since once the width of the tip of the exposed hair reaches the width of the base (with most men this might be after 2-3 years of regular shaving, but YMMV), the hair has reached its maximum uniform width.
