Ramen in Japan.

I've always wanted to try ramen in japan but since i don't currently have the time nor the money. reading about it is the next best thing.

It's quite good. The extra stuff in it adds some nice flavoring to the noodles.

it's crab meat, im asian so i eat it all the time but never in japan.

There's a few Ramen restaurants near me in California. Haben't tried any yet though.

i heard that the white part is usually made from white fish meat and the red part is basically crab stick.

here being japan, of course the ramen is delicioso virtuoso.

I doubt that. It's probably just pink dye...like the pink dye found outside on the half cylinder kamaboko.

But, yes, it's made from various pureed white fishes(steamed).

okay,after further research,i've found out that naruto/kamaboko has one basic ingredients : surimi(a.k.a. crushed white fish meat),which is also the main ingredients of crab stick,chikuwa,fish ball etc.

that explains why there's a rumor of the red part being similar to crab stick.

What do you guys put in your instant "Ramen"

I toss in:
leftover chicken (black mother)
vegetables (carrot, celery, cabbage, etc.)
egg (raw, so it absorbs the flavor)
and instead of the mix, I use real broth.

I believe the white slices with the pink whirly design are called fishcakes, similar to fishballs found in other dishes.

Since I have yet to visit Japan, I can only assume that their ramen, or any other Japanese dish for that matter, would taste much better as compared to the Japanese restaurants found locally. Then again, it could be the psychological effect of "pastures being greener elsewhere".
