I argue that a characters age is determined at time of creation. Gurren Laggan appeared in 2007 so Yoko was 14 in 2007. Sometime in 2012 Yoko should turn 19 since its been 5 years since Gurren Laggan was first published. Therefore Yoko is legal. (This probably won't work against the legal system)

Both the anime and manga Toaru Kagaku no Railgun have stated that Mikoto's "railgun" with arcade coins has a muzzle velocity of around 1030 m/s (2307.2 mph) and that she can fire her "projectiles" a rate of 8 shots per minute. The projectile she uses are almost always arcade coirefns, but she claims the coins melt from friction with the atmosphere at around 50 meters, limiting the railgun's effective length there. She can replace the coins with a much larger projectile and yields more power and can travel further than an ordinary Railgun. The name somewhat contradicts the details of how an actual railgun functions, though, as she doesn't use "conducting rails" in her ability. although a rail gun is really just two rods using the right hand rule and conducting eletricity to propel a projectile. this however still contradicts as she would be shown needing to use both arms to coil eletricity around them to produce a magnetic force.

Assuming that Misaka can freely control electricity, I'm guessing she creates invisible rails consisting only of electricity. But really, even if the coins do melt, you still have extremely hot gas flying at you at very high speed which should be fatal to pretty much anyone it hits and Touma's hand shouldn't be able to block a railgun shot because the actual coin itself is not science or magic.
I imagine it to look somewhat like this.

In most fantasy stories, you always see a girl acting as an archer. However, a bow is actually the most strength intensive weapon. A proper warbow weighs just as much as a long sword, and has draw weight of 60-150lbs. Definitely not suitable for a skinny little girl. Historically, the best bowmen were the hairy uber masculine Scotsman and the even more badass Mongols.
