I've only been to one rave and it was in November of 2008. We got there at 11 PM and it was pretty damn sweet. All my friends and me wore glow bracelets all up our arms and people actually bought them off of us...haha! A few of my friends did liquid and poi.
But we had to leave at 1 AM because we found out that some douchebags broke into our van. My mom called my best friend's phone (which she bought into the warehouse with us) and said that someone called her from my cellphone (which was left in the car, in my purse) and called my mom a bitch.
They stole both my best friend's and my purse and my best friend's (now)ex's wallet.
Shitty.
So...that kinda sucked hardcore.
Oh, and we were caged in because some assholes parked behind us. So we waited there until 4 AM till one of the cars around us moved.

On a side note...
I have been to a couple of house parties that were kind of like mini-raves in a basement. There were happy hardcore DJs, and pills (mind you I only smoke weed), and all that jazz.

When I was 18 I use to rave in Mexico. They have the best raves! Usually some guy in a tribal outfit shows up and pouts on a show by playing with fire on stage, awsome!

I've been to one or two raves. Not really my cup of tea, mostly because I despise loud noises and crowds but my friends more or less dragged me there. Neither am I a big fan of the music, there is quite the number of good DJ's but sadly an even greater number of shitty ones. I'd rather kick back and some nice pub, listen to some chill music and drink a few beers.

Aw fuck man, it's sooooo true! My first real friends in my college years have all been DJ's, sort of an off-shoot of raver shit and the people who do those drugs are maddening. This one friend of mine is absolutely batty, she starts arguments over nothing, treats every little misstep like a life-threatening situation, and she'll yell at people for not remembering things she never said.
The psychedelic drugs, they don't show through in your everyday life like, say, narcotics, but they slowly but surely kill you from the inside out.
