Reese's Can't Do Math

Yesterday, I got some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, because that shit is delicious. I noticed to my joy that Reese's had increased the number of cups, from two to three. Yippy!

Then, I read the label. It says, "40% more free!"

Example:


They had two cups. They added a third one. How is that 40% more? That's 50% more, isn't it? If I have two, and add a third, I'm adding half of what I originally had, right?

Is the third cup smaller than the other two, Reese's? What the fuck are you thinking? My retarded niece could do that math, and she's blind as well as dumb. Just kidding; she's dead. Anyways, my point remains - Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are awesome.

1.5+0.6=2.1

The total weight of the package is 2.1 oz, the original is supposed to be 1.5 oz. 0.6 is 40% of 1.5.

reese's is bad anways. now it just bad at one more thing: math.

Yeah, it was based on unit weight, but that in of itself is bullcrap. Oh well, I don't even eat them anymore. I've grown a nauseous attachment to peanut butter the last few years.

Actually, maths does not really matter in this case, as long as you get more for the same price you originally paid. Then again, the X% free label is a widely used marketing gimmick to attract more consumers to purchase a particular product.

In any case, I don't think I have ever tried the above Reese Peanut Butter Cups since they don't appear to be sold locally.

I wouldn't know either because they aren't sold locally around here.
