what is the purpose of "rep" or reputation here at fakku?

its made to distinguish the user which has contributed to FAKKU/user that are friendly and active on forum than just some normal noobs who just happen to be on this forum

It's a way of letting the users of Fakku show how they feel about other users of Fakku.

People with a lot of rep typically are respected on the forums, for uploading, saying intelligent things, being funny, etc.

People with a lot of negative rep typically say stupid shit, do stupid shit, and break rules.

That's it. No real importance. No prize if you get so many positive reps, no punishment if you get so many negative reps. It's just users rewarding or punishing other users.

rep is to show newer members if your a good nice person or a horribly mean old man atleast thats what i think also i just got +rep two days in a row, it would be nice to know who's doing it

Rep isn't really important. I mean, I guess a new user could look at it to see which users generally post and well and which generally post shit, but it's not really that significant.
And I think I speak for a large portion of the community here when I say I really wish people would stop making new threads about rep.

Not that it matters since new members never read them, but I noticed that the rules don't explain what reputation is. It just says how to give and receive rep. It'd be good to have an explanation of the purpose of the rep system, even if it was as simple as, "More rep = bigger E-penis."

Of course, then we'd have to add a section explaining what an E-penis is for the noobs.

having a high amount of negative rep also translates to a large epenis, it simply means that person is attempting to troll other members into giving them negative rep, I believe bluesummers was a good example of someone seeking to lower his rep, while a person like lilvon simply os disliked and says the wrong things more often than not. I have a moderately high amount of rep but I should never be considered a nice member, I'm simply blunt and people find it funny I guess.
