(Request) Shading/Inking Tutorials

Yeah... title basically says it.
I've searched and searched (frantically googling doesn't work), but I can't find anything very good for helping someone learn how to shade properly. I mean, the right places, not talking about how dark it need to be in contrast to the peice of clothing or whatever you're shading (y'know what I'm saying right?).
Inking also gives me a problem. I can get it started for the most part, but when I'm done it's terrible, worse than... let's say, dropping an air conditioner out of a window in a retirement home and hitting an old lady with it. (D: )
So uh, +rep for whoever helps me (when I can).

Umm.. About light , u know, I usually take a reference from real pic which the light almost like my pic, and try to color my pic following the reference pic !
about Inking, U should trying to use SAI, it's very useful !
That's all I can think at the moment, i'll say more if I got more any idea !!

How's about Manga Studio ? I used it a long time ago though !
but to me, If u prefer to handcraft ? I think just use ur hand and ur pen is the best way in Inking and If u got mistake , fix it in Photoshop !!

Im going to create a step by step, with enough details and
instructions but before that, I want to ask several questions.
1. Are you plannning to work digitally or traditionally?
1.a - if your working digitally, what drawing softwares do you have?

1.b - if your working traditionally, do you have enough inking
materials there?
2. How much time you have per day?
3. Pls post 1 artwork you currently have which you think you inked.

1. Well, I'm doing traditional now, but just because I'm not good enough at digital. So a mix of both.
1a. I don't really know if this classifies, but I used GIMP to take my traditional arts and try to ink them with that.
1b. Define inking material. (That basically means I have none)
2. I have around 2-6 hours everyday after school ends and stuff.
3. Which I think I inked? They were all so bad that I deleted them. <.<

hmm this will be quite a problem, since you dont have the proper
materials for the tutorial im planning to work with. Im not a
traditional artist so its gonna be hard for me to ink in paper.
Well basically you have enough time to atleast read some facts

Do you have a drawing of your own to show? I think it's easier to explain shading using one of your works as reference.
