I don't mind a modified car. I consider myself of the 'Tuner' type myself, well, not so much since I became monogamous to Grassroots Motorsports, but I see riced-out cars driving around and it honestly makes me furious. I'm talking about the car with a body kit, wheels, and a weld-on fart pipe and nothing else. Now, sometimes it's less blatant than others. One guy has a 91 Prelude but no badges on the rear, so it might have a H22A and at least partially justify the rice. Some other guy has a 94 Accord EX though, and I'm pretty damn sure he's still running the stock SOHC F23. then, there's the friend of these two chumps, who's an even bigger douche because he's got some coffee-can hanging from under his rear bumper of his 97 Eclipse, a loud body-kit, and Eclipse turbo wheels...framing the stock rear drum brakes.
And the mother of all posers...A 99 Civic coupe with an admittedly attractive and tasteful paint job...and at first glance, you think it's got a A/M turbo on is because there's an intercooler in the front bumper...but that second look shows the endtanks aren't hooked-up to anything! How stupid...how vain, must one be, to buy a $15 intercooler off ebay and wedge it in their front-bumper, and not even make it look like it's hooked-up to anything? And this moron isn't in the process of installing a turbo kit because that un-hooked IC has been in his front grille for several months, and the IC goes on last.
This kind of misrepresentation just pisses me off so much... :x it looks ridiculous, they get zeeeeero credibility with anyone who actually deserves the oxygen they breath, and it gives real import enthusiasts like me a bad rep with people who like good'o Detroit muscle.
Posers suck donkey-tackle. Plain and simple that.
