Run in with an ex

Earlier today I randomly saw one of my ex-girlfriends from high school. She was leaving an auto parts store right as I was going next door to get my hair cut. She didn't look much different from when we went out, but she dressed like a total slob. She smelled like she hadn't bathed in days and I caught a whiff of her breathe, smelled like someone puked in a used babies diaper three days ago. It was disgusting. This is a complete 180o from when we were dating. She was obsessed with brushing her teeth, even going as far as to have a tooth brush at school. She always tried to dress cute and took forever to get ready. A lot like most women I've known but to the nth degree. In fact, she's dressing exactly like the kind of girls she used to make fun of in high school. Baggy sweats and hoodies. Sort of ironic to see her like that.

Anyway, the whole thing made me wonder, has anyone ever run into an ex, or even a friend or relative, that they have not seen in years to find out that they have changed drastically?

With the death of a family member I returned to my hometown some years ago for the funeral. While I was there I stayed with a an old family friend. I had known him since grade school and ever since then he'd been a really straight arrow. We hadn't seen each other in a long time and we made a plan to have a night to kick back and chill like we used to in the old days before I moved. He interpreted this as inviting a ton of people over and then getting everyone massively drunk and stoned for the rest of the night to play Halo loudly and fuck around. After that we didn't talk for a long time.

Nope, i haven't run in with my ex, but i did run in with an ex of my friend. and i couldn't believe my own eye. there was a 180 degree change in her physical appearance, she was turn form hour glass figure to pear figure. god, what happen to her? she saw me and exchange greetings, we talk a while before we part away.

Never in that way really. But i've seen a few friends do total turnarounds over short time... My ex for example, when we were dating she was quite proper and shy, never got drunk, didn't smoke, doing great in school and so on. Nowadays, half a year later she's changed entirely. She's at every party, throwing a lot of them herself. Drinks alot, take drugs and throw herself at every guy she sees. She even went on a trip to Amsterdam ONLY to smoke pot. (This is the weirdest for me, her mother is from Holland and has relatives in Amsterdam, and she always stated how much she hated that place and never wanted to go back there.)

It is sad to see these things.

The most run in's I've had that had to do with an ex was his mother. She adored me and she'd scold him for being stupid. The last time I saw her was at Wal-Mart and he was pushing the shopping cart, she came up to me and hugged me and asked me how I was doing and so forth. My ex was pretty much stoned, I didn't even want to look at him. But his mom has always been very beautiful and she's always been very nice to me.

but i could say something similar about me, before high skool i had no sense of fash-on but now i only buy good tag clothes

Ex, no.
Friends and relatives, tons.

One of my old friends from school lost his parents under the tractor when he was a teenager. He dropped out of school, and took over the farm, alone. Last time I saw him, aged 25, he looked like 40 - greying hair, the bags under his eyes looked like they had developed bags of their own, and so on.

Also, several of my former friends are now heavy-duty alcoholics, and totally destroyed, and I can't even bring myself to pity them. :l
I just feel mildly disgusted when I encounter them and they try to strike up a conversation whilst being marinated in cheap vodka.

He broke up with me, and she didn't like that.

My step brother used to be that obviously gay guy that was popular in high school. But when I saw him last, he was dating a some blonde dizzy girl with implants. I dunno what changed his mind but he told me he likes the ladies now...

My guess is he had sex with a girl and liked it.

I ran into my first love. The one that got away... It really sucked because she was hotter than ever and had a better looking boyfriend.
