(Serious Help) Constipation - Rectal Bleeding (Kinda gross)

Well I'm constipated. Have had seven stool softeners over the course of three days and two spoon fulls of laxidive or whatever but I haven't had 'the last push'. My anus has swelled up or something because whenever I sit or try to go it stings. Just now I had a bowel movement (not 'the last push' but a bowel movement none the less) and I was wiping myself gently (as to not disturb my already irritated anus) and I check the cloth I was using (wanted to see the color ya know see if its healthy) and I see a dab of red. Just to be sure I wipe gently again and theres more red. These are very minor miniscule stains of red such as the size of a tick. Now I being obsessive compulsive freak out and check the medicine I was using and it says to stop using and contact doctor if you have rectal bleeding. Of course I call my doctor but shes not in. I call up my mother and she tells me that it isn't rectal bleeding. Now I love her but she is wrong most of the time. What is rectal bleeding? I was not bleeding out my ass like I look into the toilet and see a pool of red. If I hadn't wiped I wouldn't have noticed there was any blood. Is this bad? Bad as in its rectal bleeding.
