Not exactly sure why I'm being downvoted, I thought it was pretty decent advice. I mean yeah that brand might take a bit of sleuthing to find, but trust me, it's worth it to get lubes at places other then Wal*mart or CVS. Guess I should mention that it's water based. I prefer that over just about everything else. Oil based lubes don't play well with vaginas, and silicone based ones don't play well with my toys, and I find they hang out a little too long, so I always reach for water based.
I'm not exactly sure why, but i think i do have an idea, if my guess is correct lol.
and it's definitely not because of the lube brand, if i guessed correctly, that is.
Oh I know what it is! It's the glycerine thing, I really should have gone into more detail!
Now then glycerine (not that song by Bush) is a compound often used in pharmaceuticals, antifreeze, biodiesel and even nitroglycerine production, but is also used as an artificial sweetener and thickening agent. Unfortunately it doesn't play very well with the natural balance of the delicate ecosystem that is the vagina. Why you ask?
Well it's slightly toxic, and can kill off some of the totally awesome bacteria in the vagina that help keep other things like yeast in check. Unlike "real" sugars like sucrose and fructose it doesn't feed any of the critters down there though. It's a lot like killing off all the wolves in Utah and wondering why the elk and deer are taking over and destroying the land by over grazing, but you know on a much smaller and formerly sexy level. Seriously there is nothing hot about yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis except for the burning irritation.
Keep in mind any types of sugars are also to be avoided and anything that changes the PH of the area it's applied to. These are also shifts that can lead to some pretty nasty infections.
So remember folks when picking out lubes for sex read the labels, and know whats in that shit, your partner will totally thank you!
