Skeptics, What Would It Take?

This is the topic wherein we discuss paranormal phenomena and what it would take to prove that they exist. Very simply: Skeptics, what would it take to prove to you that paranormal phenomena exists? Be it ghosts, astral projection, cryptids, healing abilities, ESP, or whatever. What would you need to see to become a believer?

I pose this question as a skeptic, but as an open-minded skeptic. I've never had any experiences with anything paranormal, but I don't use that as evidence that nothing paranormal exists. After all, there are a lot of things that I have never seen or heard but still believe could exist.

Anyways, let's hear it! What is necessary to prove that a paranormal phenomena is real, or is there nothing that could truly prove that ghosts or whatever are real?

Hm....it's hard to prove something like that. Both pictures and video can be doctored, so I would literally have to witness such phenomenon in person. Possibly more than once. If it just happens once I can probably write it off as daydream or 'hey, 83 hours without sleep have consequences'.

But lets face it, if I really did start seeing ghosts and shit, my first instinct wouldn't be 'Kick ass, I can see ghosts and shit!' it would probably be '...Guess I finally lost my mind. Darn.'.

Proving the existence of the paranormal is difficult because they would most likely want physical evidence photos and Video films wont work for them since they could just say its a Hoax they would either need to experience anything that is ghost related before they believe or see a body of the cryptids but it is a lot easier to prove a cryptid since if they exist there would be physical evidence while to prove that ghost really exist is more difficult since there would be no physical evidence you would have to experience which not everyone does

Again, I'm an engineer and as such I want some kind of technical, physical, or visual proof not including pics and vids because again they can be doctored. Even though I'm a realist I won't just write someone off as a nut job until they either prove what they're saying is true, or they prove they're freaking crazy. Again I won't write off theory as well, after all that's what Einstein was all about was theory then proving things mathematically. So if you guys out there who believe in all of this stuff come forward with evidence like this, and don't act like a religious nut as well. Now before you who are religious get POed at me I say it because religion says here's the conclusion now find evidence to prove it that's how Galileo fell because he was a devout Catholic. I'm just a scientist/engineer who doesn't have any boundaries you can say.

Simple, I want to see them with my own eyes, or happening before my own eyes.

1st of all ghost don't speak, believe me when i tell you that you actually need another power for that like the third eye for seeing them you need the power of the ear to understand what there saying.

I got a third eye but sure as hell i can't Understand them, you'll just see mouths opening and static or even nothing coming out.

Paranormal Phenomena and metaphysical events can't be proven by physics and science. Only real experience can. But its good to know that you sir, is an open-minded skeptic.

Anyway, I need to see it with my own eyes to believe it. More than that, I must check it until I'm 100% statisfied that it's not a trick or a trick of the mind. I don't deny the existance of paranormal beings, but I won't say that I believe in them until I see one myself.

Oh, and I DO NOT believe in people who say that they can see ghosts and shit. Whomever it might be that says it, if I don't see it for myself, I'll just think it's bullshit. Besides, if they wanted to be believed, they'll find a way to prove it to their surroundings, and not make some stupid tv-program about their abilities. That's more like a 100% way to prove that they're faking it.

I'm saying that I'm keeping my mind open. I can't say that they don't exist, I don't know that for sure, they might exist, and I WANT them to exist. But since I've never seen a ghost, or a spirit or even a fucking leprechaun, I can't say that they do exist either, I have more reasons to doubt their existance. If that makes me a hypocrit, then I'm fine with that.

As for me, it's not that I do not acknowledge the existence of paranormal things since not everything can be explained perfectly by science. However, I do believe that seeing is believing.

The only way I will ever believe in ghost or such is if i could wittnes it with my own eyes. But i don't say that ghosts and the likes can't exist but until i see it with my own eyes i won't believe in it.

You can bring up historical records of him, and I can dismiss them by saying that the records cannot be trusted. That could go either way. There are records that swear that he was superhuman and records that say that he was not.

You can say that common sense dictates that he could not have been a real wizard or whatever, but common sense or logic is not enough to build a case. After all, the propositions that make up the argument must be proven true or false, or else the argument is not sound.

In short, asking for undeniable proof of something paranormal that took place in the past won't get you anywhere, because it's not even possible to provide undeniable proof that a regular man was just that, a regular man, and not a superhuman wizard.

But to throw it out there - there are signs that remote viewing is real. For those who do not know, remote viewing is the ability to see a distant target without actually being there. It is considered by many to be a form of ESP. Studies have been done and have found a great deal of success, with participants describing a target area with that they have never seen before. There have been some negative results, but those do not belittle the positive results. In ten or twenty years, the government may use remote viewers to find enemy locations. Or they could be doing it now, without telling the public.
