Smell

I'm not sure if I would try the thing, I guess it would depend on how adventurous I'm feeling at the time.

Durians are very much hate it or love it. So far I'm in the former category, but my mom keeps trying to get me to taste it. They are available in certain places in the US, such as New York City, but you can find a lot of stuff here =). They're generally shipped over in a frozen state. I dunno how to pick a good one, make sure you find out how before you go get one for yourself.

I always try new foods assuming it doesn't smell/look so bad I have trouble putting it in my mouth...and sometimes even then.

I'm not a big fan of Durians.

@Atomsk_PirateKing: Salty, sometimes sour or bitter. *shrug* it's an odd taste.

I was actually gonna buy some the other day, but all I had was 50 and I'm not breaking that shit for some fruit.

Durians have become the sub-topic for this thread. What about smelly tofu/beancurd? Has anyone tried it?

Getting back on topic, I wouldn't trust my sense of smell or sight alone. I would ask what the food actually is... just in case it turns out to be human meat. :D

As long as it's not meat/seafood, I'll eat anything
