Met my current gf as a result of cosplay actually. Was part of a cosplay club on the college campus. My group and I were on campus advertising for our club one afternoon and were handing out flyers to a Meet and Greet type of event at a local tea house to people who were interested in our club. All 8 of us (we're a small club) head over to the tea house and little by little, new faces start trickling in and we all just hang out and talk. Some of these people I recognize, some of them I don't. As one of the people in charge, I figured I do some shit like introduce myself to each new face and chat for a bit. I go down the line and at the end of the table was this girl with black curly hair and white shorts. I sit down and we start to chat. Talking about things like what we cosplayed, our interests, video games, anime, conventions, and getting drunk at said conventions. Turns out we both have a predilection towards alcohol with our anime.
Anyway, we end up talking for the rest of the evening and as a result we exchange numbers. She comes by to hang out at the club room over the next couple of weeks and Halloween rolls around and of course, how can a cosplay club not have a halloween party? Naturally, everyone in the group is invited and we all go to the home of one of our members and party it up. Food and drinks all around and we're all having a great time. She approaches me and comes up with the great idea of going shot for shot of some of our strongest rum. Me, already being 3 shots in, was reluctant at first. But she goads me into it by saying "Okay that's fine. At least I ain't a bitch!" with a damn smirk on her face as she throws a shot back without the slightest wince. Of course, I could not turn down such a challenge. We go shot for shot and finish what I vaguely remember as a bottle of rum and half a bottle of whiskey. One thing leads to another and voila. After the deed is done, I ask her out while apologizing that I should have done so first before all this had happened. She confesses that it was actually her plan all along to try to get together with me, and at the very least, have sex with me. Been together since.
