Stupid and Wacky Laws

I apologize if this thread has been created before. I took a gamble that it wasn't.

So I recently went to Singapore for a brief stop before heading to Iraq (GREATEST PLACE EVA /SARCASM) and upon arrival airport security went through my bag. Okay, nothing wierd with that... But the thing is I could of sworn I had like two packs of Big Red gum in there and lo' and behold they were gone. So a buddy of mines then tells me that it is illegal to bring gum into Singapore - even small amounts - and you can charged for chewing in public.

So... this thread is for any other stupid laws that you happen to come across that seem to serve no purpose than to hinder people.

I don't want this to turn into a debate of legalizing marjiunna.

Ex. I remember growing up in California that there was actually a law that said if you dentonated a nuclear bomb in city limits, you'd get fined $500. Perhaps this alone has prevented a major terrorist threat on US soil.

But you got to understand, the reason why the crime rates in S'pore are so low is solely because of such laws. (+ the fact the country is so small and the police force is fakking big =.=)

I don't believe this, but rumor has it that the police would come out from little hiding places and beat you with sticks/batons/fist if they see you breaking the law. Guy told me a police man actually jumped out of a freaking tree.

S'pore police enjoys ambushing. And instead of sticks/batons/fist, It's lame ass submission techniques to pin the culprits down. ( refering to theifs, suspects)

The polices are not so much of a asshole to go around arresting ppl for petty crimes. Only on certain cases. They're human too ya know. =|

Ninja Cops...?


So if you a chewing some gum out in public, suddenly a masked cop will beat the crap out of you? How bad does it have to be?

I bet that ninja cops are what they use in Indiana to make sure couples only preform non-oral sexual acts when intimate. If you try to go down on someone, a ninja cop will jump out of your closet.
