Another band I'd like to introduce to the public of Fakku.
The reason why I didn't post this in the guilty pleasure topic is, quite frankly, because I do not see it as one.
If I compared this to the music I usually listen this band is extremely poppy. It could easily end up on MTV if it accepted 'Industrial Gothic Synth Rock/Pop'.
And it honestly took me a little while to appreciate this, since it pretty much the only pop band I listen to. And, although the band members are really cool people judging from their live/fan message videos, they look like fags with laughable names like Falcore and Rainbow.
But this shouldn't affect the music at any time of course. In fact, they make pretty awesome music.
Below are a few tracks. It's pretty much how I'd picture a modern 80's band from this decade.
Spoiler:
After 2:50 it gets pretty epic. It's a pretty rare sound nowadays but so badass. This is pretty much where I realised I wasn't dealing with an ordinary poppy band.
The funny and great thing about this song is how it shifts between sweet sugarcoated verses and downright creepy chorus. Shows what the vocalist is capable of.
This is a cover of a very old song from somewhere in the... 60's I think. Although the vocalist is on max with sounding poppy, the synths are greatly used. This is found on an EP from the latest album. Best song on it is definitely 'Shiver' though, which I recommend you to check.
The last track on their most recent album (New one coming out Q1/Q2 2010) and the first thing that popped in my head while giving this a first listen was 'Plainsong' by 'The Cure'. It's quite similar, although I wouldn't paint it off as a rip-off like some retards have. It's got its own flavor.
Also, if I didn't know about this song, and someone gave me this song and told me it from the early 80's, I'd have little trouble believing him.
I could post more about some other tracks I really like, but I'm getting the feeling it would drag a bit (If it hasn't already) so I leave it to this.
It's pretty much the synths that makes this so good to me, they are used really well in almost every track by these guys. And I actually like the vocalist as well. She fits the music and getting a better vocalist would just kill the great sound they're having now.
