The city sooo nice they named it twice (not really)

So I'm headed to the big apple (for school) and I have a free day to visit whatever the shit I want so I need people to suggest things I NEED to see. To remind you: I will be going with friends, and several girls I want to bone and since I am still a closet otaku I need non nerd suggestions (no offense, I'm still a nerd, I just don't want people to know). I will be staying near Broadway so the closer to that area the better. Also I don't want to spend 10 hours of my time waiting in line or trying to get to my location.

I heard Grand Central Station is pretty cool looking, but it's just a train station so...

The only recommendation I've got is to see the Statue. Not sure if the chicks will dig it but its a good place to go.

Yea it does kinda take awhile to do but I went during the summer so there was more people. At this time... I don't think that there will be alot of people.

I know there's at least one person in NYC. :/

All I can really suggest is the Statue of Liberty, Times Square at night, and maybe Ground Zero if you're feeling somewhat morbid. :P

You'd also be fairly close to two museums and at least three preforming arts centers, as well as Central Park.

Well, you have Broadway shows and the New York Philharmonic, both things that I would enjoy going to see.

The Museum of Modern Art is also there. I don't know what you like. I'm a symphony and art gallery type person myself, but plenty of people find that stuff boring.

I've never actually been there, but my friends have. I'm going next year for a school trip, so I asked them for some ideas already xD. If it's not too nerdy, go to Nintendo World.

Otherwise, go to that bridge that was in Spiderman 3 just to say you've been there, the Empire state building, and Time Square.

Empire state building, Statue of Liberty, and I THINK there is the ORIGINAL Macy's around maybe for the girls. Check it just in case I'm wrong. The first two are in there for very obvious reasons, and should be seen. I have been to NY several times, and still havent gotten to see a lot. I'm not sure if you want to go to any museums but the metropolitan museum will not let you down. Broadway shows are great. I don't know what shows though. Grand Central can give you a real good sense of what everyday life is for people.

gonna see a show with my friend Sarah for sure, probably not getting anywhere with her but she's the hottest looking girl (plus she's super chill) so I might as well go with her. I was planning on the met for sure, seems you can get in with a very minimal donation. I'm trying to maximize my fun factor while minimizing my dollar spent (going to blow some cash on stuff too). I will be taking a jog through central park on a few of the mornings (when im not hung over) and as far as I know the "top of the rock" has an amazing view. Guys, I want shit that aren't giant tourist traps, I want stuff you can't find in a tourists guide... Maybe i'm expecting too much, sorry.

The few times I've been to NYC its been pretty much a shopping spree. To be honest, beside the museum, NY @ night and central park, the main attraction is still shopping. My brother has been going there pretty often lately, so I'll ask him for cheap but awesome restaurant, and some very cool stores that are only in NYC. For example, he found this store where they only make 200 copies of the same piece of clothes. So they are unique and pretty cool ~ not too pricy.

The best thing i've done in NY is seriously just walking around, far from your hotel area, and when you want to go back, just take a taxi. Just discover the town by yourself.

yep. sounds about right. honestly there's a whole lot of entertainment in just walking around the city with no real destination. i do that when i go there. it can be especially fun with a girl(s), though you should aim for central park and times square. :D
