The phantom of the opera!

I was recently in an automobile accident.

I now have large lacerations across my cheek, and along the hairline, on the right side of my face. (It looks meat-grinder-ish)

I was changing the dressing when it struck me:
I am going to be fucked up for 6 months (till plastic surgery).
The injury covers the picturesque "phantom" mask area only.


Do you think modern society would be cool with me walking around in a theatrical mask until November?

How would I go about obtaining a comfortable replica? (my idea: cast of my face, with the scars smoothed out)



Also: street clothes for me include a black blazer, blue or black jeans, a printed Tee, a black fedora, and black chuck taylors.

Fuck what modern society would be cool with; I'd high-five you if I saw you out somewhere.
Then again, something more original might be better. Thinking more about it, people might just think you are a prick trying to be artsy, because they wont get that there is a reason for it. And do you really want to explain the story to everyone you meet?

That really sucks about the accident.

Walking around in a phantom mask sounds kind of cool, but honestly, you will stand out more than you would even with the scar. I don't think people would bother you about it persay, but how many expected reasons are there to be walking around in a phantom mask that aren't creepy?(All I come up with is "I am going to be in/was in a performance of phantom soon/recently") I also think you might find it uncomfortable. Masks generally limit your peripheral vision and your face might get sweaty.

If you do go through with it, that is pretty awesome though. You have to have balls of steel and some charisma to pull that off.

After the scabs peel and whatnot? who knows.

Its a little plain, don't you think? You should go with something like this:

Truly feel like it - go for it. The admiration/attention of few means more that the distaste of masses as long as you aren't forcing yourself.
Some wounds/scars look badass after a while so you might consider removing it in the near future.

While the scabs are there I almost encourage it, but after they're gone, make sure to see if you look badass or not with the giant marks on your face.

If you don't, you get more phantom time.
