Time = Less Performance?

Well I use my laptop (Windows Vista) for about 8 - 9h daily over the last 4 months ans she's 2 years old but recently she's been freezing a lot so i asked a friend and he told me cus its because i use it too much
so is it true that time = less performance over the years?

Depends on how often you maintain it also.
Like Defragging etc.
And yeah over time performance will go down and wont be able to to perform as fast as the day it first arrived at your house lol.

Two years old and its freezing? That should only be happening often if the laptop is 5 years old or more.
Do a defrag and delete some crap of your HDD, if the HDD you have your OS installed on has below 20gb of free space then performance reduces dramatically and might start to "freeze" the laptop.

In Windows Vista's case yes it does slowly die over time meaning an occasional spring clean will benefit it greatly ie. get rid of the crap you don't use on it and general computer maintenance.

Generally the difference in speed hardware-wise (if nothing has been adjusted or tampered) will remain consistent as computers age, and mostly only drop about 5% at most. Computers slow down overtime due to software issues over hardware issues.
1. Defragment your drive. If you have never done this, it will do wonders (trust me, I saw the load time from one computer jump from 4mins to roughly 1min)
2. Go to "Run" and type "msconfig"
- Go to Services, and uncheck "show Microsoft services" Now uncheck the services you believe you won't need, like graphic driver services, misc program services that you won't use.
-Go to "Startup", and uncheck everything you don't want starting at start up, the more, the less your computer will freeze and the faster it will boot.
****Remember, the more you disable, the faster and smoother the computer will run
3. Run any necessary adware/spyware/virus scan
After these three steps, your computer should start running like when it used to, it won't run perfectly, but you should notice a significant difference.

If the hardware is the same the performance will only drop if it breaks.
A HD will get more bad sectors over time, but unless you can cite a credible source saying that this is guarantied to equal a 5 percent decrease in performance, then please stick to facts or at least stop giving wrong onces and just express your opinions.
