To Legalize, or not to Legalize

I voted yes, because I have actually been convicted for possession. not of the actual marijuana that I had, but the broken steamroller my friend forgot on the floor.

I voted yes though I have never smoked it before. But I find it ridiculous that people can be convicted for this. Possibly screwing their lives forever when far worse things are legal.

yes, it should be legalized, and sold i tobacco shop or something like in Amsterdam...legal or not, good or bad, it's people choice to smoke it.

And they're basically telling you what you can and cannot do with your own fucking mind or what goes on in it, since most drugs have an effect on the mind. People give them way too much authority.

I'm also a virgin to marijuana but I see no real problem with having it legalized. Although killing a few braincells may not seem worth it to some people others would gladly trade them in.
p.s. I don't think I want to try weed, I just don't feel the need or the urge to.

Only idiots would go from marijuana to harder stuff, like Tylenol 8) or cocaine. Or if they're relatively young or ignorant. Smoking marijuana isn't a gateway drug in the least.

The only people who move from weed to harder drugs are the people who would do harder drugs even if weed didn't exist. There's not a person out there who can blame his coke addiction or heroin habit on smoking weed when he was a teenager. Yeah, the dealer who sold him pot may have introduced him to coke or heroin, but it's the dealer's fault (and not weed's) for offering it to him, as well as his own fault for wanting to do that shit.

I'm not approving drugs but it's not like I sit down and blame a guy that was 50 km away doing drugs all by himself in his appartment.

But the thing is that when someone says: ''Ey! it's our problem lets us smoke as much as we want and care about your own problems!'' And then jumps into a car and drives down the nearest kid playing on the road. It's pretty much thier problem.

Not saying that everyone jumps into a car right after smoking and some even is capable of driving safely even after, but you got to admit that it doesn't help your decision making if you get my drift.

I'm not doing anything of mentioned above myself but i have friends wich i've seen doing, and i don't know if they're either pretending or not, but from what i've seen they where not even able to drive a bike even less a car.

I agree, people probably shouldn't drive when they're high, but people also shouldn't drive while talking on a cell phone, while drunk, while texting (God, I can't believe some idiots actually do that), or while trying to mess with the radio, talk with their friend in the other seat, and think about what they need to get at the store, all at the same time. Safe driving requires the person to pay full attention to the road, otherwise people can die.

If a person gets high and drives and crashes into another car, it's not weed's fault - it's the fault of the guy who didn't pay attention to the road.

That's not entirely true. What also can happen is you get an unscrupulous dealer who spikes your bud in order to keep you coming back to him. The most common spike would have to be opiates. Highly addictive and the high carries some similarities to pot making it hard to notice the additive. This is why marijuana is a gateway drug. I quit when my dealer tried that shit with me. Not cool.



I was with you there until "but it's the dealer's fault... for offering it to him". Because it is the dealers fault for offering the harder drugs in the first place. Now I am not saying that the user is at all innocent, but to say that it's not the man who sold you the illegal substance's fault that you are an addict is sort of ignoring the fact that he wanted you to use it in the first place. To boost his business.

rofl, most biased poll ever. I tried once, I didn't like it. I don't like drunkards and potheads are similar. I know lot of Americans like to brag about it (And a big part of fakku is American) and I just don't care if you guys smoke or just die falling down a cliff.

I've never seen any propaganda on drugs here in Quebec, or more like I don't watch TV.

Not sure how it works over there, but nobody cares if you smoke here. Only dealers. And if it's gonna be legalized, they will put a heavy tax just like on tobacco. But then again, buying from the wrong dealer could be dangerous.

i dont smoke weed nor do i smoke/drink at all, so i wouldnt know the bliss of weed, but i know that it has a risk of addiction and addiction is something that may be hard to get out of (call me a coward). But for one thing i dont really intend to try it nor do i care if people do it =O

With or without weed/drugs/alcohol, the world is filled with people lacking common sense and will cause accidents and things one way or another >>; cellphones are an ample cause of car accidents as well (although arguably not as much as certain drugs or that alcohol has worse effects, etc)

But wiht that said, ultimately, its each and every individual human that is at fault at the very most.
