Drew McFedries can be an absolute beast sometimes. I'm not surprised at all knowing he got a 34 sec TKO...especially against Xavier (who I have never heard of before). His fighting style and power reminds me a lot of Houston Alexander. They both have the potential to be great in the UFC, but they need better defense.
Looking at the results, it looks like Sean Sherk lost a decision to Frankie Edgar. I would think that would be a good fight because Lightweights are almost always more exciting and energetic. Frankie has been doing really well since coming into the UFC with victories over Tyson Griffin, Spencer Fisher, and Hermes Franca; While Sean Sherk has now lost 2 out of 3 after coming back from his steroid suspension.

FUCKING AWESOME!!! THAT’S JUST THE WAY I SAW IT GOING DOWN!!! LYOTO “THE DRAGON” MACHIDA IS NOW THE NEW UNDISPUTED UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP!!! THIS MARKS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA IN MMA. (sorry nigga) j/k :lol:
I was rooting for him the entire time. He completely dominated Evans all through out until finally knocking the ex-title holder out midway through the second round! Gotta give credit for Evans though for hanging tough despite the early beating he received. He fought with a strategy but to no avail. He’s got nothing to be ashamed of, he was a proud champ.
Anyway, I can’t wait till Machida defends his newly acquired belt. I wonder who’s gonna fall prey to his karate next... Rampage?
About the Hughes and Serra fight, I was quite disappointed on how the match turned out to be. Hughes may have won, but it wasn’t like he did what he said he’d do in the pre-match interviews. Btw, I did expect him to win and although I also expected the match to go the way it did, I at least had hoped to see some blood. Lastly, when the match was over, where the fuck did all the bad blood disappear to? Hugging each other just like that after all of the constant yapping exchanges between them for who knows when, YUCK! EWW!
I really didn’t care much about the rest of the fights. The 37-second victory by Drew over Xavier was all but lucky... did it actually take only 34 secs, I dunno. And it ticks me whenever a fighter questions the stoppage done by the referee. Don’t get fuckin knocked down thrice if you’d like to avoid such a call. :lol: One last thing, I feel like Sean Sherk should call it quits. He’s getting too old for the sport (not to mention the steriod case) and obviously, his direct standup/boxing style is just too easy to counter for any youngins around his weight division like Edgar.
All in all, I'm very happy with The Dragons’ triumph over Evans. It was held in Vegas (US) but the crowd was obviously cheering for him who’s a Brazilian native rather than their very own, Evans. What’s up with that? (ever since the match was scheduled, it was clear who was favored to win, and I can’t blame the people for feeling that way – Machida is a one of a kind fighter that’s very rare to come by and really is fun to watch) FUCK YEAH!

I want Rashad to do as well as possible because I'm a Michigan State Spartan fan, and he just happened to wrestle at MSU. I like Machida, though. He's always been a nice, classy guy that is never boring to watch. I hope he holds the belt for a while.

Yeah, Machida is up against Rampage next. Should be an excellent match, not sure who will be out on top, but I'll root for Lyoto. Don't think he's fought against anyone with as much power as Quinton.

Rich Franklin vs Wanderlei Silva: I'm hoping Silva will be in good shape and take the win.
Cheick Kongo vs. Cain Velasquez: Kongo will give him his first loss.
Swick vs Saunders: Going to give this to Saunders.
Mostapha Al-turk vs Mirko Filipović: Crocop, hope his comeback goes well.

Aside from Wanderlei's match against Franklin, which I'm also hoping he'd win, I'm not really too excited about anything else. I really hated his most recent loss to Rampage (UFC 92) and I'd like to see them faceoff for the 4th time, inside the octagon!
