Probably if I typed and said something about hardcore, you would think of some kid in tight pants, throwing out bitchin' spin kicks while listening to some guy on stage scream some nonsense you don't understand and the weakest mosh pit ever forms beside you and immediately falls apart when someone gets hurt.
That is not the same as UK Hardcore. UK Hardcore is a specific type of Hardcore Electronic music, namely kick-drum bass using a lot of synth breakdowns, and of course break beats. Genres like UK Hardcore include Happy Hardcore, Gabber, and Freeform Hardcore. (They really just kind of all sound the same.)
What makes UK Hardcore so awesome are the producers and DJs who make the tracks we listen to. The most notable ones you would recognize are DJs Scott Brown, Gammer, Darren Styles, and CLSM. Some really good ones who aren't known at all include Cat Knight, Orbit1, Al Storm, and Kutski.
Nearly all UK Hardcore tracks include an MC who usually has lyrics to either get the crowd involved (kinda useless on a CD) or rap over on them. Some of my favorites include MC Whizzkid and MC Storm.
If you like Drum and Bass, Rotterdam Techno, Hardstyle, Breakbeats, or possibly anything that ends in -core, you might likeLOVE UK Hardcore.
