I think you at least have to prove your going to stick around, and put some effort in; basically, make a contribution to the community other than what your seeking reward for. Otherwise it could just be a talisman - you get artist status then leave, and use it to show off somewhere else.

I didn't say that they could just "waltz in" they would obviously have to prove that they are worthy enough by showing past works. I might have made it sound a little to easy I suppose... of course it will take time to improve and prove worthy. My mistake.

Prowl, you have to take into consideration a few things.
What about the people who have been here far longer, contributing to the community, who have not yet earned the title.
This is a community, not a stat whore and rank site. If everything in life was given to us just like that, there would be no challenge.
people need to show us, and the admins, their willingness to stick with the community by accepting this fact. Remember, the admins just want to make sure that what they do keeps the rest of us in line and happy, so we stick around and have fun while we're here. There are very few people who would agree with just up and handing someone a title, that many other people have worked hard for.
If you had been in the community for as long as some of us have, you would definitely feel different about certain achievements and certain titles. These are things to be earned, not given.

Oh goodness folks. Hime was obviously just joking around when she sent a PM to Jacob and Nikon. No one said anything about her making a FAKKU Artist right now. She just wanted to know what it takes to earn that title.
We know no one is going to receive that title when they are new, and because the ask for it. You have to be a long time, active, artist to be considered for the title. I haven't even been a member of the forums for a month, and even I know that.
