What are your favorite genres and Bands

A lot of similar threads popping up it seems. But I'll play ball. Most kinds of metal are for me, with Melodic Death Metal being the preeminent. And a few bands from that genre would be Scar Symmetry and Divine Heresy (loosely)

But I'll jump around, Doom metal (Swallow the Sun) and industrial metal (Fear Factory)

I like some hard rock, bands like Dope, Rammstein, AC/DC, other good stuff.

Also like any thrash, death, groove, grind, or black metal, list of bands is below.

I like some techno music, I just listen every once in a while on Youtube. Don't know any specific artists, though. Wish I did.

I also like some rock or pop that comes from Japan, just listen to some misc stuff now and then. Again, I wish I knew some specific artists.

Depends on the mood, but sometimes I go back to my uni days (Smiths, Morrissey, etc) or want something a tad louder (Rammstein, RAGM)

Techno/Trance with a good beat and several layers to the song. Classical music is very close behind, though. Ironically, I dislike the 'classic' classical music(Beethoven, Bach, so on), and prefer newer, unique stuff.
I'll listen to rock now and then too. All depends on the mood.

Some of my recurring favorite artists are - Myndflame, Daft Punk, Strike911, The Polish Ambassador, Rammstein, Bloodhound Gang, Rod Dougon, and most of Blizzard's work.
However, some of my favorite songs are by random artist... and I often only like that particular song.

Before this thread and the "favorite metal bands" thread, the only metalheads I knew on the site were myself, Arbitor69, and Raikadashi.

Its good to know there are more than 2 people on the site who might give my posts in the IB Music thread a listen. :D

I obsessively collect old dance records (primarily ardkore) from 1990-1995 (no shit, that is to say no trance, hardstyle and straight up 4-on-the-floor happy hardcore). I also enjoy the experimental electronica that is being put out today, downtempo, instrumentals, a bit of j-pop, along with Drum and Bass (I think most DnB producers make garbage - though it is my favorite genre today in that the scene hasn't been eradicated). I lack the ability to appreciate rock as a whole for the most part. Go figure.

As for favorite artists, few electronic artists are able to be audibly differentiated, unless they sing as well. Thus, I (along with most dance music fans) associate myself with labels, movements, styles genres, sub-genres, and sub-sub-genres (they do exist: Hardcore -> Happy Hardcore -> Toytown).
