I was talking about my first car and how it was my favorite toy because it meant freedom to me but it made me wonder, what was my all time favorite toy growing up as a kid. I had tons of shit, I loved most of it but treated it all poorly. Looking back now I would have to say my favorites were my transformers, not the shitty kind they have today; that break within 30 seconds of opening the box, these things were mega tough, made with led paint and could be used as weapons if need be (and sometimes it did). I had a particular one which was a combination train/tank and rocket ship; I love that thing until the day my father accidentally broke it. So Fakku, what was your childhood made up of?
Nes,SNES and the genesis were my first three toys they honed my skills, trained my hands and sharpened my senses. These are what made me what I am today, An otaku living in a room surrounded by videogames, anime, hentai and PlaMos (Plastic Models eg: Gundam)
I never had any legos. I had playmobil instead. And they were awesome.
I also had a collection of awesome dragonball action figures. They were all in perfect state (toys are srs business), till one day a neighbour of mine came in my house for some reason I can't really remember and broke some of them. A part of me died that day.
Not really sure. I remember my Green Power Ranger action figure being played with a lot, but I'm not sure if I would consider it my favorite toy. I think I was so spoiled as a child, that I had no real attachment to any of my toys. I was going to get something new soon so I didn't really care about any one particular toy.
Digimon Tamagochis. Back then in South Korea, it was one of the best toys you could have. Extremely portable rpg/pet and armed with the ability for 1 vs 1 multiplayer battle, it was the blast.
I also played a lot with digimon/pokemon cards, and Korean traditional toy called 딱지 (Ttakji?). Every Koreans on this site would know what I'm talking about.
Legos. I did have some action figures and RC toy cars but I keep breaking 'em, so my mom decided then to buy me Lego blocks. Every week when she gets home from Saturday work, she brings a packful of Lego blocks.
It fascinated me back then - something fun that I can break apart and build at will. I still had action figures but I kept it in a good condition and had it in display, while I toyed with Lego blocks.
I had fun with Lego until I discovered Famicom in first grade elementary.
I liked my Legos, my Matchbox Cars and my Fisher Technics as much as the next kid, but sticks were the shit.
Stick and some string = kickass bow.
Stick and smaller stick and some string = perfect rapier
More sticks = fences, machine guns, torches, shovels, whatever we wanted them to be.
My white nameless teddy bear. My brown bear named 'teddy' whom my ex never returned to me and i still QUITE HONESTLY FEEL VERY HURT ABOUT IT. I never cared about anything else she can keep all the appliances and furniture and all, but why take teddy too
I love lego too.
I love fire, I used to make paper houses or anything thats combustible then make paper people and put em inside them burn them as a kid.
...pokemon cards... they were the best... and still are... hahaha... err... but not so much the new ones anymore... well... yeah... yes... hahahaha....
