i have this uncanny desire to see the world infected by a disease that turns us into zombies. this is the ultimate survival of the fittest scenario because there is no adapting, its kill or be killed only to be reanimated to kill. these would be the only circumstances where i could truly enjoy killing another human being, thus satisfying a very carnal urge.

ive heard good things about that book xil. would you reccomend it to a zombie media fan such as myself or is it more out of parody?

@KloWn: they're all pretty dangerous choices to me. I suppose I chose Godzilla because I've been a fan of Godzilla way longer than I've been a fan of the zombie genre, then the natural disasters genre.

Actually, you can do something about asteroids provided we have the technology and not some half baked shit that Hollywood made up in Armageddon, Asteroid, Deep Impact, or whatever asteroid/comet movie.

Meh. Ok, but it doesn't hold a candle to the real Godzilla, especially the Heisei era Godzilla.

I was really into it...till the end where godzilla is apparantly capable of making lil kids of himself...I lost all interest and seriousness of the movie at that point and didn't care who lived/died...at that point I wanted to get out of the theatre.

Watch the Heisei era Godzilla movies, aka the "vs" series. You'll like those because Godzilla has returned to his roots as a force of nature, but being mean at the same time. (Godzilla 1984 to Godzilla vs. Destroyah) The millenium series are OK, but I like the Heisei series better. The kiddy Godzilla series you're talking about is the Showa era series, before the Heisei era series.

Wouldn't consider them as Zombies. More the type of infected humans who has some anger issues.

this topics pretty controversial, actually. i consider 28 days later a zombie flick because the primary principles of zombie madness exists. they both mindlessly dedicate their existence to tearing the uninfected limb from limb, all the while harboring cannibalistic tendencies to eat their victims. sure they arent reanimated corpses but you look past that fact and they're essentially the same.

the point im trying to get across is that 28 days/weeks later and movies like resident evil are so arguably similar with zombie motifs that i just group them together in the end. if you were in either of those situations you know youd be running like hell for the same reason.
