Wow. The homophobia is strong among you. The poll question is not who do you want to marry or go out with. It is who is the most attractive. You have a generic dark haired big-boobed girl in Ami with no real unique facet in her design, has a rather bad personality, and is the worst main character in her show [excluding a certain tiger who turned out to be even more evil]. She is completely forgettable. And then you have Maria who is one of the most unique and complex characters and design to come in a long time. Maria has an epic hair style, a mole, red eyes, and more, who shines in every scene he is in. Mariya has both a superior personality that is multidimensional and almost impossible to deceiver and is much more attractive than Ami. It is sad. It seems most of you do not have much faith in your manhood and pick Ami, whom is vastly inferior in looks to Mariya, just because she is a girl. Oh well. Maa ii ka.

As much as the guy above me makes sense in his post. I beg to disagree. Ami is the smartest, most manipulative, and cleverest character known to us in Tora Dora, AND she is a teen idol living amongst regular people. In case you forgot, she once had a split personality, and has drastically developed in character throughout the plot. The fact that she harbors a one-sided love is all the more reason to like the character, especially since she has to compete with Taiga.
On the other hand, Maria doesn't change much at all. She too puts a show in front of the general public, but with no real depth. She's evil. She's abusive. She's narcisstic. AND she's a MAN. Frig. Talk about being attractive in ALL THE WRONG WAYS.

Your opinion is pretty valid as to why people like Ami. I think she's better than Taiga but not Minorin myself. I have to respectively disagree with what you said about Maria. Maria wants the people he cares about to hate him, as to why that is I have no idea. He pretends to not like anyone but he definitely loves his sister [He is willing to give his sister the inheritance, he doesn't end the contest when she exposes herself as a girl to Kanako] and cares for Matsurika. He even cares about Kanako. He seems to be like the character Doctor House in House M.D. in this regard. Doctor House appears to be on the outside an asshole who pretends to not care about people but if he really did not he would not try as hard as he does to help people that others have given up on. House does not need or want credit or to be loved. He just wants to help people even though he has a very large distrust of people. Maria is the same. Maria is actually very kind, and cares for people. Yet projects this image of being evil to the people who really know him (and a saint to those that do not know him) and most people are not willing to try to see past the direct image that Maria projects and look for the real Maria. I am not sure why Maria does this, Matsurika herself wonders why he pretends to be so mean to his sister, his cousin the Student Body President, and Kanako when it's easy to see that Maria actually cares about them. Maria is a very complex and fascinating character.

for me... the only reason i voted ami is that Maria is too sadistic. Other than that they are equals in my opinion. Boy or gal, Maria is still damn attractive
