I can't be the only one noticing that NTR chapters tend to be very long by hentai standards. They are rarely below 25 pages, and the latest book which is mostly NTR has only 7 chapters in it yet is about as long as every other book.
My own theory is that since NTR is supposed to be painful to read they stretch it out in order to make it as painful as possible. Or is there another more concrete reason? Any ideas?
P.S: If you're a fan of NTR that's totally fine, so please don't get upset with me.
It's because NTR tends to rely a lot more on story and needs more pages to have the plot moving, it's especially true for good NTR, because a rushed story would not impact the reader.
Try to come up with a NTR story and draw it in less than 10 pages, the result will surely be crap because you'll need to rush a whole lot of exposition and as such you will not be interested in the main couple nor the bad guys because you didn't have time to fully know them and as such like/hate them.
As a matter of fact, I tend to avoid NTR stories that last only one chapter, by experience, they always tend to feel the same.
Investment in the characters. The longer you get invested in the main couple, the bigger the effect when the "bad guy" starts breaking the couple. It's going to be especially strong, if there is a chapter dedicating on how "beta" the main male and the female starts comparing both males.
NTR one shots needs to be very good with the art to make me care. lol
A short one-shot NTR chapter can be done well, but usually as a finisher.
Example [Ueda Yuu] -Feel Good Love - the last chapter in the book 19 pages, the first 200 set you up for the last chapter. Then hits you under the belt.
IMA Real - gives you a chapter to establish the relationship
NTR2 - Starts in the first chapter then keeps climbing down the rabbit hole.
Yeah, its pretty much all about the break down of one relationship based on love and the build up of a new one based on lust. If the female's will is strong, it may take a few pages to break her down to a slutty persona.
