I'd rather live my life with nothing, knowing what I know now, than forcing myself through college, getting a worthless job for the sole purpose of having money, having what so many call a "higher" education. Look out the closest window. That is what the future holds for you. There may be so many things obstructing you're view, but regardless of what is in your way or what you need to get past,
there is a world out there. Not getting into anything too personal, life is worth living, even if you're sleeping in a box in the park. By life, I don't mean confined to an office making money so you can pay bills and not get evicted from your apartment. I mean going outside, breathing in the air, and realizing that as long as you allow yourself to, you can go anywhere your feet take you.
you mean,be one with nature?
Kind of. What I'm getting at is living an unfettered life. You can have all the attachments of a "normal life," but unless you really feel like that is what you need, there's no fucking point to it. I'm sitting here thinking about, not what courses I should take in the fall, but whether I should take courses at all during that semester. I mean, yes, I'll be getting closer to graduating and I'll be able to get a "great" job with a degree, but at the same time I question whether that is really what I need.
In, lets say at the very least, 5 years from now, I see myself in an ashram in India learning from a guru. Now I don't know what he/she will want me to have done in my life, but I know enough to realize that where I want to be at that point requires me, not to get shit done, but to do what I know is necessary. I don't really know if college is necessary to my path and that's why I'm just taking my time with it. If I come to the point where I find that it is, I'll have credits already and I can go from there, but life is about doing what
you need to do to get where you
want to go. Despite what society has dictated from when you could first think to when you can choose, freely, what kind of education you can have, living life is about getting from point A to point B. What you need to get that done is dependent on your desires and ambitions.
Think about it this way, you want to do something with your life, whatever it may be. If that doesn't require studying physics, why should you have to study physics? The same goes for anything. All you need to live
your life is what gets you where you want to be. Being one with nature is one possible end to a decided path in life. Whether that is what you desire, your path is defined by the steps you take.
My uncle, well that's what I called him, he was more of a father figure and a spiritual guide, once said something to me to the effect of "awareness is one of the most important elements in life." I don't know if I'm smarter than any of you, or if any of you realize that, it doesn't matter, but I have the opportunity to share it with you and I'm taking it.
