Okay, so this isn't all wishy washy - it's more of a complete rant of the troubles I'm going through just to get to the college I really want to go to for my dream career - chiropractor.
I realize there are times and places for 'blogs' and audiences to be aware of, but I'm around Fakku enough to be a type of 'family' as odd as that sounds, but I really would appreciate not being trolled out of this topic if possible.
My current residency is in the United States, Pennsylvania. I was accepted to the college of choice, Life University in Georgia. I've been wanting to go there for quite some time and I'm glad to say I'm accepted now. Since I've come to Fakku I managed to meet somebody in that area, and most of you know I got to meet Fpod.
The whole process has been incredibly difficult. Murphy is out to kill me because everything that can go wrong, is going wrong.
I'm moving May 17th. I still have to get an apartment (though a realitor has narrowed it down to three places. Fpod is going to check them out Monday and let me know).
I need a car, and I need a job. I can't get a car without a loan and I can't get a loan without any credit.
I'm going to school tomorrow to see if I can get a student loan (wish me luck) in order to get a car. I feel like I need a car in order to have a better chance at getting a job. I don't feel comfortable going to a new state by myself and relying on the transit system of a major city of Atlanta.
Then the biggest problem is a job. I've submitted my resume to places already, I've called temp agencies down there (to no avail) and I've almost been scammed from careerbuilder.com but I'm having absolutely no luck.
Some of you may be wondering why the hell Fpod would be looking at apartments for me, well - we're going to be roommates. I don't really know how to explain it without sounding crazy.
No, we're not madly in love and running off together. I need a roommate to split rent - it's expensive in the Marietta/Atlanta area. Easily over $600 a month for a one bed room apartment plus utilities. I can either have a complete stranger who I don't know will be reliable with the bills and their behavior with responsibility, or I can stay with a person I've been talking to since I joined Fakku in July. Still doesn't seem that long, eh?
He agrees with the process because he also wants to move and wants to get out from the nest with his parents, but also finds it expensive to live on his own.
It sort've works out for the both of us.
We are seeing each other, he's been up a few times and got to meet my mom yadda yadda. She likes him, she thinks he's a hard worker and seems nice.
She's been supportive with the process because in the end I do need a roommate and she knows I'm comfortable with him.
I do really like him though, the feelings pretty much mutual, but at the same time we're being cautious about it. We both know what puppy love is and we're not diving in and claiming anything above and beyond. We're both trying to take this process as sensible as we can.
So yea. There's the spiel.
It's been really stressful due to all the catch 22's. I'm really scared about moving to a new state and being without my mom. I'm scared I won't get a job fast enough, I do have a little over a thousand saved to hold me over for a month or so (I know, not a whole lot of time) but that's about the best I could do. My ass will mainly be out looking for a job when I first move. I need a job.
Blah. :? This is harder then I ever expected and it feels like it gets worse every week.
Fpod has been good about it. He's been on the road working (he drives) and has been between Michigan and Canada. He plans on getting a job that doesn't require traveling and start attending college too for political science.
Yep. Lots of change for both of us. And I doubt any of you will read this whole thing.

Jobs and loans are just bad right now. The saying "the only way to get a loan is to prove you don't need it" has not been more true in a long time. The only way I've been able to get any work these days is through having connections(my mom is friends with the owner of the business that hired me for this summer), though moving to a new place just makes it so hard. Best of luck with the job search, but lending industry has just been destroyed and a lot of people have had trouble with jobs. You'll have to say what turns up along the lines of student aid/fellowships/scholarships too. I don't mean to try to keep you down or anything, but you might want to consider a contingency plan if you can't get a job summarily. I wish you the best, but it's just a terrible economic climate.
Personally, I know I'm lucky to be able to get funding to go on to grad school, cause with my majors, I'd never be able to get a job in this economy.
I also think it's awesome that Fpod is going to go study political science too. I've always found his posts informative and intelligent and enjoyed having him as an "archnemesis" in debating political topics.

Lol I read the whole thing. It really isn't that much if you don't have a short attention span and can handle the amount of text that you'd find on 2-4 pages in the average book.
Anywho, that does sound difficult but that's life for you. Full of crap, loads of work, and struggling. You know, a loan does sound pretty good. However, I'm not sure if a car is the right thing to use it on. I suppose, in the end it'll be worth it... since you won't need to rely on public transportation (which you don't seem too fond of).
But maybe the loan could be used for your rent, and things that you "need".
Also, it's cool that FPOD and have something going. Haha, who knew Fakku could bring users together and make something like that happen. I hope it works out, for the both oyou f you.
But putting that aside, again, that's life for you. It's gonna be hard. But don't quit. Keep going. It's a struggle..( the whole money situation )and I get it. Sometimes I wish that it was easier to make a living and everyone had enough money to support themselves. Unfortunately that's not the case.
But yeah, try to relax a bit... make the choices that will help you best and maybe, if you and FPOD plan things right, you can cover the cost of living, cover transportation and even finish off college and pursue a career as a chiropractor. Mm... the bright side of choosing chiropractic is that it's a cheap form of health care to relieve a lot of pain. It's not just for somebodies back, I think that's misinterpreted a lot.
But another plus is.. it's going to take me like 7 years to finish :lol: maybe we'll be out of this economic crisis by then (hopefully)

I read the whole thing, and I can't give a whole lot of advice, but I can say, "Good luck." And you and Fpod together is awesome, to the max. I never would have thought that Fakku would help create a couple.

Good news is I found out I can get a car now.
My financial aid is giving me a subsidized stafford loan which means it won't start collecting interest until after I'm finished my schooling. I qualified for 2k
I'm looking at a car that's $4500 and if I get a loan from my credit Union I need to put down 20% which is $900 and the student loan is on a card, I can use it any which way I want. So I can pay the $900 and then use the rest of the stafford loan in case I don't get a job right away as monthly payments for the credit union loan.
So yea, I'll be getting the student loan in a few weeks.
