Apparently, the threat of Gustav is causing gun sales to soar. That's just sad because while most rational people are thinking about what they are going to do in order to survive, the vast majority is more concerned with protecting their belongings from looters.

That is the sad truth about the time we live in. Due to the looters people are willing to risk their lives to protect something that is essentially worthless.

Its fucking stupid. With the money they're using to buy guns to protect their belongings, they could be buying supplies to fortify their houses to prevent the hurricane from destroying everything they own. Ironically, in doing so, it would most likely be effective in preventing looters from getting inside their houses. Although that's beside the point because looters usually only target private residences after big stores and places they know supply what they're after. Unless of course the looter is just having fun and stealing shit just for the sake of stealing.
