FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After some shit, FAKKU! Hentai Viewer v0.2 BETA is out! I bet people thought this was dead in the water. Well.... Ive been busy, Ive had net problems, I started learning HyperText Markup Language (HTML), I researched the MicroSoft HyperText Markup Language Application Programming Interface (MSHTML API) and the MicroSoft Xtended Markup Language Application Programming Interface (MSXML API) and the Really Simple Syndication (RSS) and some window hooks and blah blah blah..........................................................

Made alot of changes, especially after my HTML and XML knowledge gained from NO SLEEP WHATSOEVER O_O
Well, the database can be improved alot since Im now familiar with MSHTML API. The RSS Feed implementation was child's play - literally! Redid the download Hentai part and other shit like Slideshow support.

NOTE:
-Setup may need more work! Read TXT file for info. It was created with VB6 Package and Deployment Add-In. I guess I should have used VS 2005. Oh well.....
-Source code and/or project is available on request.
-Request any feature you like makes sense. If I can implement it, I will.

PS You'll probably LAWL at the initialization screen. You can change it by going Options->Configure Startup. You can change the animations by replacing the gif files in the Files directory after you install. Ex "C:\Program Files\FAKKU! Hentai Viewer\Files".

The "FAKKU! Hentai Viewer "Pretty Girl" SideBar" is pretty much what it is. A sidebar with a pretty anime/hentai female pic. Far from complete, mind you. Im working out things with a Global/System-wide hook.

LOL! I had my program cracked. I kinda feelgood and semi-important for this to happen.

Anyway, VB6 is easy to crack especially when they're password protected with strings. You can just look for Unicode strings in the application with a Ring3 Debugger like Olly.

LOL. Indeed. :) The only thing I ever cracked in VB was a password protected phone directory my friend made for his IT SBA (School Based Assessment)



I feel honoured. Do you mean VB is harder to crack than C++? I though C++ would be harder because of its compile process.

I had internet problems for quite a while so I was unable to post sooner.
If any1 tried this program and found that it had some errors, it's because of the wonderful changes Jacob made to this site like the hentai thumbnail viewer. When I get time, I'll fix it.

C++ easier than VB for me, cause it was my first lesson in college :lol: :lol:

C++ easier than VB!?!?!? I assure it's not! There is no type protection whatsoever! All the C++ HWND, HANDLE, BOOL, DWORD.......... are Long in VB. It's easy, that's why it classified as RAD - Rapid Application Development. I used VB because I wanted to get through this app quickly and I did.

Anyway, I'm working on another program that should crush Windows Explorer. Im implementing some nice features like Video Desktop - Video playing on the desktop and maybe even before logon and other stuff. When I "fix up" the FAKKU! Hentai Viewer, ill release the source.

Well, first off nice job, I do enjoy seeing people be creative with their work.

I've seen no download link, but I'm going to assume that is .net, personally when it comes to VB I perfer 6 over .net.

To address a previous post, how is rev. engineering VB harder than C++?

VB is PLAIN ENGLISH, and if you can reverse C++ you can reverse VB with no problems probably in minutes...Oh well though.

Keep up the good work, may I recommend implementing a slideshow feature? It'd be fairly easy to do, let the user define the interval, if you're unsure of how to do it I have some old snippets when I was working with VB, you'd have to translate them from VB6 to .net though :P

You probably know how to do that though.

I totally agree with you. VB 6 over .NET! This program is written in VB6. I see the .NET platform as a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) rippoff!!!11
Even C# graphics code remind me of Java. Screw .NET! I still use VB6 because it's easy to deploy fast. No .NET framework or JVM.

heh, am a Guy, but nice, I haven't actually downloaded it yet, just kind of felt like .net for some reason, guess I was wrong though.

I'll check it out now though, and keep up the good work, quick question: how are you authenticating that they are logged in without access to the database?

Speaking of programs I was working on an anime series sorter, for myself really, in principle it took your incoming folder for torrents and automatically sorted your anime downloads based on the standard tagging/structure. Such as

[SS-Eclipse]_Clannad_After_Story_11.mkv

would break down to /download folder/anime/series/Clannad After Story/Episode 11.avi

But the structure is just to vastly different by group, so I got pretty annoyed with it, it would be great for myself with all the series I download, but ah well.

edit: nvm looks like you're just posting to the form and returning true or false to authenticate that they logged in correctly or not. Or something like that at least.

Was it the pretty buttons? I used an ActiveX control called XPButtons.ocx. It's really kool! Comes with buttons for Win32, WinXP, Java, Mac and others. 8 button types in total. Really makes the old VB ones look like shit!



Well, actually I did the whole login page thing before I started learning HTML and the MSHTML API. It boils down to this:

1) User enters login credentials
2) If page navigates back to login page, credentials were invalid.
If page navigates to home/index, credentials were valid.

Ill probably make it fool proof next version.



You can utilize Shell32 to get all the information the OS (Windows) has for a file. Examples:
-1 Info-Tip. What you see when hovering your mouse over a file.
0 Name
1 Size
2 Type
21 Duration
22 Bit Rate
10 Title

Indeed I can do that, but that doesn't help me very much since the structure is completely different so splitting it at _ may not work if they use spaces, or if they use -, or etc.

Also the fact that most people don't set information for their anime episodes when they torrent them, so title is normally the same as the filename. It's just really bothersome..
