I thought about choosing the first option, as it would seem like paradise to most. However, I don't think I would want to age in a room for the next 20 years of my life. I would take option B if I were able break the lock of the door with the gun. That way, I could enjoy the paradise with my own efforts in a world outside of a box.
But think about it. You have 20 years to do anything, no bills, no work, no problems at all. You could very well spend that entire time being physically fit your entire life and eating healthy food (which will require no effort or preparation on your part) for the next 20 years of your life! And you could spend the other time researching an anti-aging formula of sorts which will, if you succeed, be exclusive to you, and you only! Imagine the result back in the real world when you get released!
And another thing I would note as food for thought: There is nothing in this real world that can be paradise without some sort of string attached to it. To many of us, Room A *IS* paradise.
Haha I actually did think about that, and I doubt my own medical skills in finding an anti-aging cream, even though I'm of Indian descent. On the other hand, it does sound really nice to have 20 years in order to train myself in a room, both physically and mentally. Then again, I don't want to be stuck in a room for 20 years, I could NOT take that. Before a year passes, I would go insane without a breath of fresh air. Do you see where I'm coming from? The downsides would be the death of me in option A, so I'd pry open the lock in order to escape with the given resources of option B instead.
