An invitation for political discussion and a sharing session

So, this post will be broken into two parts. The first will be me making some statements of beliefs about politics, and the second will be an invitation.

Firstly, I am a part of a Skype Group called Hate Club. Essentially, we all log onto each other and tear into each other just about every day. If we're not doing that, we're probably talking about a variety of other things(video games, drugs, youtube gossip, whatever). Among us there are at least.
1. A drunken liberal democrat
2. A black bisexual male prostitute liberal democrat
3. A conservative democrat(because he says the republicans are getting too crazy to associate himself with anymore)
4. An older, auto didactic technocrat
5. A christian socialist.
6. Myself, a philosophy student who easily rages towards anyone on any side when I hear incorrect statements, even though I myself am a democrat...with some conservative ideologies, especially concerning domestic and foreign policy.

And that's just some of them. So as you can see, we're...kind of a mixed bag.

Now, the second part of this post is a request. On Skype, I'm BigLundi. So, if you want to talk to these people, and myself, about these things, send me a contact request letting me know.

Now then, To open this up to be an actual conversation, I'll tel lyou a few of my personal political beliefs.

1. Government is a necessary evil.
2. Government is the source of the solutions to many problems that individuals cannot solve.
3. I'm pro drone usage.
4. I'm pro decriminalization of all drugs(though I also accept it's constitutional that these things be made illegal by the federal government)
5. I'm a secular humanist, more information on THAT can be found here.

So that's a good start. If you find any of these objectionable, let me know, let's chat. I also think it would be good to have a short list on what...YOU guys' political beliefs are. A nice little sharing session.

1.Government doesn't have to be 'evil', it just has to be governed by men with honesty and integrity. Nor is it all that necessary however, an anarchic state is easily possible, provided that people relate to each other honestly and with integrity.

Honesty and Integrity governs, without that there's no society.

2.Government isn't a source of the solutions to many of the problems. In fact, it causes them. Poverty? Taxation without representation. War? If the government isn't declaring war, it sure isn't in a hurry to end hostilities(See: Vietnam, the War on Terror. Which is seemingly everywhere now.) Health Care? With the LAX Regulations of the Food Industry, getting a bunch of citizens hooked onto an insurance plan which might as well be another tax.(At least this tax might pay for potential medical bills. It'd be better if we had a society that aggressively treated in a preventive manner. Ironically, the President mentioned that but it appears to have been forgotten. Not surprised. The Insurance agencies wrote Obamacare. They benefit the most from this ponzi scheme.)

In America and across the globe, governments are corrupt, decayed and they're a miserable failure of an institution. If the 'Citizens' are to be ruled over, give me an Empire. A human who calls himself king or queen or even prince of his/her land would care more for his 'subjects' then that of the current pathetic american political class.

3.Which means your pro civilian casualties. Yes, they happen in war. But at least you used to be able to physically attest as a soldier, that you did all you could to avoid casualties. Now we drop bombs based off 'intelligence' and if some innocent villagers happen to die? Opps. How can you call yourself a democrat and support technocratic dictatorship the likes of which Stalin would approve?

4.We've been through this before, the federal government is not The Pope of the United States. The Government has no authority on what anybody can put in their body, as long as they aren't a threat to others around them. Now mind you, I'm anti-drugs in society. But laws simply haven't stopped the Drug War. In fact, it's only expanded it and opened our borders to illegal immigration. Perfect! Any other bright ideas from the political class?

5.You're an atheist, or more specifically: Every human being, including the religious are secular humanists. For the most part, many Americans believe in technology, many of them appreciate the natural world we live in and many of them hold high morals and standards.

In short, secular humanism isn't a philosophy per say, since it merely espouses universal human laws and ways we would profess to be treated. Not that this is against your choice to call yourself a humanist(though, again, to be a humanist and to support drone attacks is kind of contradicting don't you think?) This is just pointing out the flaws of the 'philosophy'.
Now I'll tell you some of my beliefs in a nutshell.


1-Government is a unifying force. Or at least, that's the only way it can be justified. If neither the aristocratic nor the representative government can unite, then the people must unite themselves. Needless to say we as humans need to reach that point and hopefully soon.

2-Government is not the savior of the people, only the people are. The government is a regulator.
People create jobs, they work jobs and business savvy people are the ones who create future successes. The government's job is to regulate the market activity while allowing for people to access their god given potential.

3-"The only ones who can shoot, are those who are prepared to be shot!"-Lelouch. I'm prepared if need be, and if called upon to help defend the country. However, I'm not prepared to send others into war to do the bidding of a government, or of a few human beings. War should only be fought as an absolute last resort, and only when it's evident that the other side intends to commence hostilities.

4-The best kind of welfare, is financial education. Right now millions of people are on TARP, other kinds of financial programs. And all this does is keep the people afloat, living zombies unable to produce in the economy. The thing is though, Lundi? These zombies are fully aware of their zombified state, many of them feel helpless and then desperate, and then violent crime spikes up as we've seen recently.

And the Democrats only solution seems to be to perpetuate a false class warfare between Americans. Instead I say, teach everyone to become a part of the 'rich' class, which is what we ideally want in America anyway right?

5.I'm a Spiritual Satanist. Which, well, there's a lot of conflicting sites and information. So I'll just give my definition: Lucifer is the light bearer of all knowledge. It is from Lucifer, that we Humans have aspired to learn, to compete and to become better than who we are. This is essentially what it means to be a Spiritual Satanist. To continue to progress in self-determination and individualism.

[color=#2e1a6b]Most of the stuff I discuss here is something I've never discussed before. That's not to say I'm clueless about the topics I discuss, I'm just clueless about what the opposing arguments are. As a result, I usually have to do some research along with each response. This works with a written response debate, since I have as much time as I need to research and think about what I want to say. This luxury would be gone in a Skype discussion, which is why I'm somewhat disinterested in it. Maybe later I'll try it out, but for now I'll pass.

I hope you realize that the invitation to the Skype discussion was only mentioned as a byword; the main purpose of this thread is discussion within the thread itself.

At the time, I don't feel like having a huge political debate on 20 different subjects at once, which is why I didn't post my political views. Or is this thread gonna be kinda like that "why I am (not) an atheist" thread?

From this i'm assuming you feel there should be tougher regulation of the food industry, but earlier you say government isn't all that necessary.Effective regulation requires a government to enforce it.

Yes, but that's specifically related to the chemicals that some of these food companies put into the food(specifically, meat) that ends up causing Mad Cow Disease for example.

The regulation in of itself wouldn't be necessary, again if honesty and ethics were present in our society. But because there's greed, corruption and even the government itself looking the other way as it regards the food industry the need for regulation occurs.

I believe in a future where Men are self-independent and where self-determinism as our Founders proclaimed to the world at a time of oppression reigns supreme over those who would proclaim to be our superiors while neglecting their responsibilities via their corrupt personalities.

I'd rather the government and politicians be running things than the illogical ill-aware selfish populace that is the general public. Lesser of two evils etc etc.

As long as democracy reigns as a flawed system, politics is always going to be riddled with astigmatism, half-truths and a practice that listens to money and motive rather than reason.

You should know by now that you shouldn't overestimate a person's ability to understand the core of a discussion.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on point two. If a street has a pothole the government isn't the only group of people that can fix it
