Are the people of Iceland in the right?

I can't find a good link to the article, so I'm going with this one Gay Right's Activists in Iceland find perfect way to protests televangilist.
This was actually a topic that came up on a memebase discussion over this issue. The main question is this: are they (the people that are reserving tickets for this event and not going to show) also in the wrong for blocking this mans right to free speech (if Icelands definition of free speech is the same as ours)?
Now, while I am a firm Chaotic Neutral in terms of Gay rights, I also think that it is being a bit intrusive on the rights of others that actually want to hear him speak.

I personally think the Icelanders are doing their cause more harm than good by the simple practical fact that they are putting money in the hands of the individual they wish to quell.
As far as quashing his right to free speech goes, it is a stretch for me to conceive that as long as they are legitimately purchasing the tickets that they are infringing the rights of anybody.

Actually, they aren't purchasing the tickets, just reserving them; so no one is actually paying for them, they're just saying that they'll come, but won't show.

I find it hard to believe that whatever venue is hosting the event would simply let people reserve tickets without an up front payment. I've never seen a theater do that. They wouldn't make any money and they would either over or under-crowd every performance that ever showed there.

All I know is that Iceland is the most conservative Germanic language (along with English) in regard to pronunciation of consonants. They have changed little to none since the Vikings settled there.
They've gotten this far doing stuff the way they wanted to, so who's to say that they should be told what to do?
