Well concerning the subject of climate change, I am a big advocate of energy alternatives. I know that Hawaii is already trying to start the concept of electric cars and recharge stations that will be placed around the islands. Hopefully the American car makers will grasp this concept. Since the US is the biggest country that relies on automotive transportation, this will decrease the amount of carbon monoxide to be released into the atmosphere. I usually ride my bike or walk to my school campus, but I do have a car w/c I use only for trips going back home.
It'd be great if people in America didn't have to use cars so much, but I accept that that's a pipe dream. Public transportation sucks and isn't available unless you're in a big city, and there's usually too much distance between places to walk or ride a bike.
When I was going to college, if I wanted to ride a bike there, it'd probably take me two hours (at least) to get to class. That is, if I survived on the road and wasn't struck down by a car.
My ideal place to live is somewhere with sidewalks and everything close enough that I could walk to it within two hours. I doubt I'll ever find a place like that in America, unless I move to some boring little town in the Midwest.
