If there are casualties, then there is an incentive to do something to prevent them.
If it is possible to wage war without human losses, then there would be more wars.
Heck, if everything is going to be mechanized and digitized, why not just have an RTS game to resolve conflicts?
I say: Let them die. It's not totally a loss, since there will be a lesson to learn.
